Wonderful Story

I first read this years ago when it was first published and loved it. With the release of the third book in the series, I decided to listen to The Swan House on Audible. My husband is not much of a reader, but he will listen to audio books with me in the car. My husband and I both enjoyed "reading" it. The audio book was well done, and the story is engaging. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely LOVED this book!

Wow! First of all, I have heard Linda Stephens read several books, but with this one she really knocked it out of the park! I loved the story, the Christian message, just everything about it!

Great story!

I really enjoyed this story! I laughed a bit and even cried ... something I don't do often when reading, but this story has some very heartfelt moments! I loved both the coming to Jesus as well as the coming of age themes! Coincidentally, my nickname is also swan!

Heartwarming

This is one of the finest novels that I have listened to in a very long time.

The story is rich with characters with deep feelings and the focus on growing spiritually is very well done.

I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Faith and History

This book has so many layers. All of them excellent. Faith, Family, Friendship, and History. I don't re-listen to books, but I can see this book being an exception to the rule. Linda Stephens may be my new favorite narrator.

Spiritual Rags to Riches

Pleasantly surprised and happy I took the chance on an unfamiliar author. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for hope in humanity.

Forever Favorite from the author's # 1 Fan

I have read this book twice in the past and it is my absolute favorite book of all time. This time I listened to it on Audible and it was wonderful. Hearing the wonderful narrator read Elizabeth's words was so very good for my weary soul. Her ability to discuss racism, poverty, white privilege and mental health challenges was uplifting. Mary Swan's honest thoughts about such difficult subjects and the ability to find God in spite of those challenges helps me to clarify my own confused mind. This is a must-read book for anyone but especially if you are from Atlanta, Buckhead to be specific. The way it follows the Orly plane crash through 1962 and 63 was not only historically accurate but so entertaining. I am forever grateful for this book and the author. Now I will listen to part 2 of the Swan House story in The Dwelling Place and be ready in November for the 3rd and final chapter of the Swan House story, a new book- The Promised Land.
