Excellent!

I've read this twice and it was as good the second time as the first! A must read!

This was a fascinating book!

I bought this book in a sale, because it sounded interesting and it was LONG (more hours of "free" listening.), even though I was unfamiliar with the author.

The story begins in 1961 with 16yo Laurel witnessing a strange crime, and then skips from there to 2011, and back to 1941, weaving all the background, and the "dectective work" that goes into Laurel finally figuring out what happened and why.

On one level, it's a mystery, on another a romance, and in some places, it is just a story (it drags a little in some places). At times you'll think you've got it all figured out, but there are several key pieces that don't really fall into place till the last minute. It's a really well-crafted story.

Overall, this is just a really good story, that kept my interest till the end. I used my next credit to buy another Kate Morton book, and hope to find it as good as this one.

Such a great listen!

I so enjoyed listening to this book. The author paints such interesting characters with intertwining lives. I didn’t want the story to end. I got invested in each of the characters, their life and their stories.
Truly enjoyable!

WOW! What a story!

Amazing story with twists and turns throughout. I was kept wondering until the end.

Started out slow, but by the middle I was hooked

It took me a while to get into. The beginning seemed to drag on. I had to keep twisting to chapters cuz I found my attention would wander. But by the middle I was all in, and the ending was very unexpected and awesome.

A gripping tale full of twist and turns. Thoroughly enjoyable! I could not stop listening.

Loved the twists and turns in this book! Did not guess the surprise ending! The reader did a great job keeping my interest!

This was a very satisfying book.

With good character development, good historical accuracy, an excellent reader and just enough twists to keep things surprising, this book is one of my recent favorites.

Magical with twists and turns.

I never write reviews, but I'll make an exception for this audiobook. I was held captive by the story, the characters and the narration. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. Wonderful! One if my all time favorites.
