Publisher's summary

A winner, a loser, a leader, a loner. The Rock 'n' Roll Diaries. One Mission: To be the biggest band on the planet. When Burt decides he must start a rock band to win the love of Bex, he is forced to assemble a quartet of teenage opposites. The RockAteers are born. It must work, and not just for Burt's sake. Egg has spent his life on the outside looking in, Tea needs to evade a tough future, and Clipper wants more than a fast track to football academy.

When Egg reveals his song-writing genius, the only way is up.... But can they function as a band? Who will win the race to sign them? And who will win the girl? Embodying the reality of This is England and the fun of The Inbetweeners, follow our band on a rollercoaster ride of chaotic gigs, hissy fits, and dirty tricks. The listener can truly live and breathe their experience as the chapters come with an accompanying music track for an entirely new, multilayered experience.

Told from the perspective of the four band members, we discover what it’s really like being in a band, and through their candid diary entries, their emails and lively narrative scenes, we find out what the characters think of one another as they embark on a journey that will change their lives forever.

Edge of your seat listening.

Whether you've read the kindle edition of The Rock n Roll Diaries or not this audio book is a definite must buy, from start to finish it is edge of your seat listening, with plenty of laugh out loud and sing'a'long moments and even tear jerking moments. Jamie Scallion has done an outstanding job narrating and really brings the story to life, portraying each characters personality brilliantly, the background noises give you a real feeling of being inside the story and travelling along the rockateers journey with them, the music snippets you get to hear are totally amazing and i for one am hoping the full versions will be released soon.
I can't wait for book two.

Fun, pure and simple

Loved the individual voices and the diary entries. The lads grow and mature over the course of the story--but not too much. Looking forward to Part 2.

My Rock n Roll Diaries Experience

Where does The Rock 'n' Roll Diaries, Part 1: Making It rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

From the very beginning I was drawn into the story. By the end I felt like I 'knew' each character. I love how each one was unique and the author's descriptions made it possible to actually 'see' them all in my mind. Even though the band didn't face a lot of the obstacles new bands starting out do, they each had to overcome personal issues in order to take advantage of this 'once in a lifetime' opportunity. It also shows that no matter what your background, a passion and love for music can bring you together.I LOVE how the audio edition included 'The Rockateers' songs in the story. I also LOVED the narration by the author. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
