It's Christmas. And in this time of celebration, Cassie Ellis has found the real meaning of Christmas; Jack is still searching to understand. Who is Jesus? On that answer rests his hope that someone greater than he is in control of a situation spiraling into terror.

Tom Stechschulte makes Dee Henderson's books come alive! He is the best narrator I've heard. She's one of my favorite authors with her ability to intertwine a relationship with Jesus and drama.
Only because I can do other things while listening.
Yes. I think he does a good job in them all.
I have read the book and listened to this audio three times. I really like the author.
Relationships with action; I couldn't wait for the next part or book to continue the story.
I was following along part I just fine, then on to the next portion downloaded (part 2 of 2) and two of the most critical events to the whole story were lost - dinner with Jennifer where she tells Kate what's going on and the plane blowing up. Impossible to follow on this download.
I was really enjoying the O'Malley series until I got to The Protector. This was not time well spent. Fortunately, with this series, a reader can skip a book and still follow the series. This was not one of the of the better books in the series.
I would not. Dee Henderson is on of my favorite authors. However, I think she got carried away with religion in this one. The novel was more about Jack accepting Jesus into his life. The religion aspect totally over shadowed the arson investigation and budding romance between Jack and Cassie.
I'm a fan of Tom Stechschulte. He is probably one of the best narrators.
If the author would have let the romance happen naturally. Instead, she tried to convert Jack. Therefore, the romance didn't seem believable. I didn't feel a romantic connection between the two.
I have two more novels in this series. I sure hope they live up to expectations.
I’ve read several Christian based romances and have generally found them enjoyable and I especially like sharing them with my daughter who has inherited my love of a good romance. However, I found the Christian bigotry portrayed in Dee Henderson “The Protector” very offensive. I am a lifelong Christian and I try to live the precepts exemplified by Christ’s life and teachings. The portrayals of hell fire and brimstone based Christianity is a discredit to the richly diverse, companionate and contemplative spiritual tradition that has been the basis of my experience of Christianity.
