Lauren Robinson knows exactly what it takes to be the perfect mistress. She had a front-row seat when she tagged along with her father on all of his extramarital trysts. She loved keeping Daddy's special secrets, but many family members, especially her mother, consider her an accomplice in helping break up their family. This emotional distance and Lauren's early dating experiences lead her to date married men.
That is until Dr. Matthew King enters the scene, and when Matthew proposes marriage, Lauren happily accepts. But as their very public engagement makes the news, someone is intent on sabotaging their relationship. Someone who watched her own marriage destroyed by Lauren and won't be happy until she gives Lauren a taste of her own medicine.

I liked many things about the book. The characters were realistic, the story was easy to follow but not simplistic, the story was unpredictable, and, most of all, the story was an excellent depiction of the natural law, biblical principle, spiritual principle (whichever one prefers to call it) that you reap what you sow, what you put out comes back to you, what goes around comes around (however one prefers to articulate it). Also, the narrator was excellent (which is not usually the case with Ms. Billingsley's audiobooks). The only thing I did not like about the book is that although I understood the main characters and what caused them to become who they were, I did not like any of them. I would recommend this book to readers/listeners who like realistic, scandalous stories that reinforce life lessons.
I love to escape my reality by reading/listening to books!
This story was crazy but I really enjoyed it! It really teaches you to try and do the right thing because the tables always turn.
The book was ok, started to get predictable. Figured out who the antagonist was pretty early. Lacks character development for ALL of the characters. Overall it was ok.
The reader made this book worth listening too. The story seemed a bit repetitive at some points. The characters were not developed fully both visually and emotionally.
This book was awesome right from the beginning. Never a dull moment. I didn't like the way the mother died, but I was glad to see Lauren get her happily ever after!!
