In "Center of the Universe", God struggles to balance the demands of his career with the needs of his long-term girlfriend. In "Magical Mr. Goat", a young girl's imaginary friend yearns to become "more than friends". In "Unprotected", an unused prophylactic recalls his years spent trapped inside a teen boy's wallet. The stories in Simon Rich's new audiobook are bizarre, funny, and yet...relatable. Rich explores love's many complications - losing it, finding it, breaking it, and making it - and turns the ordinary into the absurd. With razor-sharp humor, and just in time for Valentine's Day, Rich takes listeners for an exhilarating, hilarious ride on the rollercoaster of love.

This book will take you in some strange directions but is really fun the whole way. Insightful too.
It's in the top
A change of pace from the normal historical fiction I like to read.
Heard him on Savage podcast and thought it was an interesting premise for a book
Lots of fun and I love when the author reads the book, it adds so much more personality to the book. Great book and great reader/author!!
I found the first few pieces in this book amusing and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny, but the more I listened, the less I liked the book. Story after story portrays women as jealous, nagging, and generally unpleasant people while men are sad, desperate creatures who slap each other on the back every time they "score". Rich's misogyny and total reliance on sexist stereotypes wore thin very quickly. I tried listening to another piece after leaving this alone for a while, but I just can't ignore the childish view of gender relations in this book. I will not finish listening to it and I will not buy another Simon Rich title.
