Publisher's summary

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish....

Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a first-hand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen. Since he was her first boyfriend when they were kids, Owen has never been far from Avery’s thoughts. But the attraction she’s feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of BoonsBoro a reason to celebrate. But Owen’s hard work has only begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realize that her first boyfriend is going to be her last….

“No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance.” ( Fresh Fiction)

Great Story

I love this book just like I did the first one. I do disagree with everyone on the narrator though I though he did a decent job. I found him enjoyable.

First Loves

I always enjoy books about first loves and so I really enjoyed this story of Owen and Avery. They are an opposites attracts kind of couple. He plans everything out and Avery is very spirited and fun-loving. Just loved the Montgomery family. Who doesn't love hunky construction workers with tool belts? Book 2 of this trilogy did not disappoint me. Can't wait to read the 3rd book next.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. I enjoyed the story line about the brothers, friends, ghost and the Inn.

Any additional comments?

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a Nora Roberts book.

A lovely love story

Any additional comments?

Story not to mushy - just right. Love the playful ghost - - and the fact that love kept her rooted and grounded in the best place ever...her new home. Finding Billy and hearing his account of his life - made the story even better.

Mora knows how to write the happiest, feel good trilogies. All the characters are fully defined and people you can care about.

Very Good Contemporary Romance

This was my first romance novel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I liked the characters and the small town yet contemporary setting for the story. All of the characters were very likeable, and the romance between Owen and Avery was very flirty, well-developed and believable. The love scenes were described in a very classy and somewhat symbolic way, yet it was easy to visualize and imagine their passion. I would have liked a more interesting background story, but even still I found myself anxious to listen as often as I could to this audio book. The narrator was very good, and I thought he had a perfect voice for Owen and his brothers. I will probably wait a few years, but I will listen to this story again.

A good book

Since I haven't listened to or read the first book, it took me a bit to get into the story. It started slow for me. But it picked up and I truly enjoyed the storyline and HEA. I'll consider listening to book 1 and 3 in the future. I picked this one up during Audible's 3 books for 2 credits specials.

MacLeod Andrews did a good job. There were times it felt like a 10 yr old was responding/talking vs grown men or women. That maybe the difficulty of emotional exchanges in multiple voices. Overall I enjoyed his voice. It's soothing.
