Publisher's summary

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish....

Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a first-hand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen. Since he was her first boyfriend when they were kids, Owen has never been far from Avery’s thoughts. But the attraction she’s feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of BoonsBoro a reason to celebrate. But Owen’s hard work has only begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realize that her first boyfriend is going to be her last….

“No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance.” ( Fresh Fiction)

Nora does it again!

This HAS to be a movie. It's so wonderfully written! I loved it! I am a sap for love stories but these take the cake!

Another good story

Sweet and easy second installment of the series. Looking forward to the third.

Make sure to turn the narration speed to 1.25x and it's perfect pace!

i love this series

i am listening to me for the second time. its an easy read and i love the stories of the 3 brothers. the rough edges and way they relate is underlied by deep family love. too bad all the world can't have that.

Super Second to this Trilogy

If you could sum up The Last Boyfriend in three words, what would they be?

True Love Endures

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Boyfriend?

Loved the scene between the brothers after Owen drops in unexpectedly on his mom. FUNNY!

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?

I am really enjoying all three male leads. Mr. Andrews has a sexy voice and brings each of the male characters to life. Ryder is rough and gruff. Owen is meticulous and brainy. Beckett is your guy next door (with a tool belt). Love 'em all.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many. Several times I laughed out loud. Other times I was growling along with the character. Most of the time I just sighed in pleasure (totally immersed in the story)

A favorite

I've listened to the whole series three times. The characters are well written but very ambitious- I get tired just listening to their day. And I start one book right after another. I highly recommend all three books.

Super slow with lots of unfinished stories

This book had potential, but it was a slow sappy story. Towards the end of the book, new characters were brought into the story, which made me think it was going to get better... nope, the new characters that gave the book some credibility, left the reader wondering what the hell happened. Wish I could get my credit back😡

Normally a big Nora Roberts fan

Any additional comments?

For the most of the book, I enjoyed. Right up until the relationship became physically violent. I don't care what the circumstances are. Verbal and physical abuse aren't sexy. I'm sure if I kept listening, they would have made up and everything would have been right as rain, but that's disgustingly similar to honeymoon period following an altercation of an actual abusive relationship. I'm angry that this is what I was exposed to in the couple I am clearly supposed to be rooting for. No thanks. I think I'll be taking a break from Roberts for awhile.

Great series.

Love this series which improves with each reread. Avery was so feisty and Owen so steady.
