    Story
    "Not what I expected"
What did you like best about The Hurricane? What did you like least?

The story was well written for what it was. It did a nice job of capturing a slice of modern life. It is probably my fault for not reading the reviews closer, but I was expecting science fiction. This was a teen anxst story with a Hurricane background. Not terribly exciting really.

What was most disappointing about Hugh Howey’s story?

No real climax to the book. A little too pat in the story line. Was expecting something more along the lines of "Wool". My bad for expecting it to be science fiction.

Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynolds’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Does a find job of reading.

Do you think The Hurricane needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I wouldn't read it. I barely finished this one.

    Any additional comments?

If you are thinking about getting this because you liked "Wool", "Dust" or any of that series, don't bother. Not in the same ball park.

I am an Australian woman who enjoys reading many different styles of books, from history to sci fi and mystery to poetry. I also love to listen to the same whilst not paying attention to other things. I aim for my reviews to be short and succinct so that they are easy to read.

    Story
    "A little disappointed"

I bought this book because I enjoyed the Silo books. Am I sorry? No I'm not but nor am I particularly excited by it.

NARRATOR – The narrator does a good job with the material he had. I found him a tad stolid but that could have been the story. Sometimes it is very hard to tell. He did a good job with different voices and his accent wasn’t too annoying. In this book the narrator is average.

STORY – This is a story that lends itself well to airport listening or reading. Nothing exceptional or unpredictable happens and to be quite honest I found it a little boring. If you enjoyed Heller’s “Something Happened”, then this book may be for you but this book doesn’t have the same characterisation. In other words not a lot happens.

I would recommend this book as bit of a time filler for someone going on a journey where you did not have to think too much.
