Was it a remarkable stroke of fate, or destiny which brought John Jacobson and his son together? His son was brought up in a household of hate and mistrust. He left home at an early age to try and seek out some sort of happiness in New York City. During this time, his real father, a truck driver, was unaware of his son's existence. What forces were in play to give his son the idea of leaving New York and heading to Florida? This story is an example of human stamina, integrity, and love beyond our understanding.

For me, a different reader would have helped.
Probably not, because it was too contrived.
Less sing song, drawn out diction
Think author has a good heart
The book is well written and the story line was great until the last few chapters.
The son's adventures were told in a very touching dialogue. That was helped out the great narrator the author used.
I liked the scene where the son has a run in with a man at a truck stop. I would have thought that some one growing up on the streets of New York would not have been taken in so easy.
The audio book was well done and worth listening to but the last few chapters took the book to a different realm than life.
I liked the story tellers ease with this fable. The author did a great job but the book began to brake down at the end or I would have given it a higher rating.
I enjoyed the story of the sons life and the whole book could have circled around the son.
Joshua Bennington is a real story teller and I liked the different voices. These voice made the audio version so mush better then the printed page.
The audio book is excellent up to the last two chapters.
The most memorable moments of the book were when John confirms that John Jr is his son. That was a very short few lines in the book but they were meaningful
I have listened to a few other books narrated by Joshua Bennington, the man is good. We have liked all of his work.
This book takes the listener on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Major events take place one chapter after another. I would recommend this book. It was very entertaining.
I really liked the story as told by the son. I wish the author would have spent more time developing that character. I would have given him a higher rating if he had.
The best part of the story was the meeting of father and son.
Joshua Bennington has a great voice and I could listen to him all day
I would recommend the first 3/4 of the book. The last 1/4 brought down the rating for this book. The only great thing was the narrator. He made the book.
I liked the scene where they find out that they are father and son.
I would have loved to have listened to more of the son's life story.
I liked the first person narrative of the son telling his story.
John Jr's life story was the most interesting aspect of the book and the least interesting was when the father goes to heaven?
We have listened to all the "Jason Strong" audio books by Mr. Bennington. They were good stories that were read well.
A friend recommended the book to me and I will pass it on.
The best part of the story was when the son (John) was telling the story of his life. In fact the book could have stopped there and it would have been winner!
That would be John Jr. for sure. I would have liked to have heard more about his life.
I would recommend this book because it is a very emotional story with a happy ending sorts of.
I liked the scene in the dinner when the son is asked to make a phone call.
Can there really be "Fate"? Are we all pushed along in our lives by something bigger than us?
The audio book was very enjoyable because the story was so emotional and it was read very well by the narrator. I liked the different voices of the different characters. It was preformed so well that I did not need the "she said" "he said" before the characters lines..
The best part of the story was when the son was telling his side of the story. It seamed real and down to earth. You could almost feel his pain.
John (the son) was my favorite. I felt like I was hearing a young man telling the story of his life to me personally. It was very real and pulled me into the story..
I did almost listened to the story in one sitting. I enjoyed the audio book very much and recommend it.
