    "Thrilling"

I have read previous Jane Whitefield books, this was the first listen. She was just as compelling and exciting as I remember. Joyce Bean is spot on with the voices of each charactor. Good story, some parts not completely believable, but exciting anyway

    "DIY Witness Protection"

I've read or listened to several books in this series and have enjoyed them. I like the Whitefield character, and the story lines are entertaining.

That said, this one's a bit too long and drawn out. Jane manages to travel cross country repeatedly, seemingly oblivious to the time required to undertake this travel. She knows lowlifes wherever she goes and travels as easily among this crowd as she does as the wife of a doctor in Buffalo. I keep mumbling to myself, "yeah, right." Money seems not to be a problem - sure, it's explained, but still - and no obstacle is too big or small. Need to get a spot in a retirement community in a day. No prob. Need a furnished apartment overlooking the house of some lowlife she needs to keep an eye on. Sure thing. Need to enlist the help of a friend to undertake dangerous actions? When do we start? You get the idea.

Entertaining, in the long run, but you really have to suspend your disbelief.

"Great book, loved the charactors and the narrator!"

Fast moving! This is the first Perry book I have "read" but it most certainly won't be the last!

    "Loved it!"

I don't know what it was, but I absolutely loved the suspense & espionage-like style. Not too violent, just right! LOVED IT! Kudos to Thomas Perry!

    "ICK"

This story is hindered to a large extent by the narrator. Her idea of changing voices to identify different characters is almost laughable. No, Joyce, a lower pitch does not make for an intriging identity to match the character. I will never listen to her again. Story wise, it's ok, but from the other two reviews, I wonder what they've been reading to rate this so high. I urge caution, dear Audible readers.

Good book all around. I usually enjoy Thomas Perry books. This is the second book I've read about Jane.

"Not the best Jane Whitefield but still decent"

This wasn't my favorite Jane Whitefield story but it was still an enjoyable listen. Realized once I got into it that I read this ages back. Enough time not to remember all so that didn't spoil the story. It just seemed to drag a bit in the first half. I would still recommend it. The tactics are always interesting as are the stories, some more than others. I remain a Perry fan.

    "Love the Jane Whitefield Series"
What made the experience of listening to The Face-Changers the most enjoyable?

    Different twist and turns.

What about Joyce Bean’s performance did you like?

I expect to hear Joyce Bean's voice when reading the Jane Whitefield books by Thomas Perrry.

    "Not worth the read."
What was most disappointing about Thomas Perry’s story?

Thomas Perry captured me with "Sleeping Dogs" "Butchers Boy" and "the Informant." This book does not come close to measuring up to those.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joyce Bean?

Someone with a little more emotion in their reading.

    Any additional comments?

This book would not stop me from sampling some of Mr. Perry's other works however this is not one I would recommend.

"Need a little patience with this one"

Well, I just finished it and it was worth being patient. The beginning was a bit confusing and then slow moving, but I really like all of the details, much like a John Grisham novel. The characters were well developed and in the middle it seemed to pick up speed and kind of skipped over details you might like to hear, only to be clearly expounded on at the end. So, be patient, great read!
