Publisher's summary

On June 1, 1956, the New York Times broke a story that captured the imagination of the world. Another Dead Sea Scroll had been found, unlike any before it, describing unimaginable treasures worth untold billions buried in the hills east of Jerusalem and under the Holy City itself.

In the years that followed, scholars came to believe that the copper scroll could be history's greatest treasure map, one that could not only lead to the treasures but pave the way to the building of the Third Jewish Temple.

But the scroll's code has never been broken, and experts from all sides warn that any effort by Israel to rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem would unleash a war of biblical proportions.

Now, exactly 50 years after the Copper Scroll was unveiled, New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg takes you on his most exciting and heart-pounding ride yet.

Saddam Hussein is gone. Yasser Arafat is dead. A New Iraq is rising. Now White House advisors Jon Bennett and Erin McCoy find themselves facing a terrifying new threat triggered by an ancient mystery.

Critic reviews

"Jeff Woodman narrates this action-packed adventure with nuances in tone and accent to differentiate among multiple Middle Eastern characters and [the] American researchers....This engaging production will keep your attention from beginning to end." ( AudioFile)

Exciting treasure hunt!

This is a great story, a cross between Indiana Jones and James Bond. Political intrigue, Biblical prophecy, the search for the Temple Treasures. This book moves very fast, with many surprises. I started here and really enjoyed it, but would recommend you start earlier in the series, with the Last Jihad, the Last Days, or the Ezekiel Option. The characters build through the series and there will be some things you won't understand right away.

Very Interesting

I will have to say that this book was wonderful. It was full of action and it keeps you wanting to know more. The book really makes you think of what is about to happen. I didn't want to put it down. I would recomend that anyone interested in the end times should read this whole series. Be sure to read from the beginning of the series. Get all 5 books downloaded and you can keep going all through the series without stopping. They are great.

More Indiana Jones Than Previous Books in Series

While I would strongly recommend this book if you are reading the series, I found this one to be less political thriller and more Indiana Jones to the extreme. An archaeology expedition amidst dangers and villains is exciting, but I didn't feel that this book was quite as well written as the previous three.

Prophetic

Joel Roesenberg's series The Last Jihad is prophetic for today! If you are the least bit interested in the "End Times", this series is for you. This author is on top of the truth! It is exciting and riveting and thought provoking. Start with the first in the series and you will be hooked!

Well written and well read

Riveting and well written, as with Joel’s previous books in this series. A credible interpretation of biblical prophecy. Interesting links to current events. Non-stop action. The audio book narrator, Jeff Woodman, did an excellent job conveying the emotions and drama of the story.

preachy

The book was entertaining. I am aware that the world is awaiting the return of the messiah is key to this book and finding god, but this book spends a lot time preaching the gospil. I think the story line is fantastic, but maybe David Balducci should have written it.

Great storytelling

As a Christian, I firmly believe the “End Times” are almost here. And Joel C. Rosenberg has a great understanding of Scripture.
While this book does not dwell on what will happen immediately prior to the Rapture, Mr. Rosenberg does rely on prophetic Scriptures to tell an intense story.
Jon and Erin Bennett and some of their friends search for “lost” Jewish treasure in a thrilling worldwide chase with a “mole” providing their plans & locations to deadly enemies.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Audible book and highly recommend for those liking a great adventure.

one complaint

I like the reading except for the pronunciation change of President McPherson's name. all other narratives have had a different pronunciation. Very anxious to finish the last book in the series
