Chick Bowdrie could have ridden the outlaw trail, but the Texas Rangers recruited him, because they didn't want to have to fight against him. Pursuing the most wanted men in the Southwest, he knew all too well the dusty trails, the bitter cattle feuds, the desperate killers, and the quiet, weather-beaten, wind-blasted towns that could explode into action with the wrong word. He had sworn to carry out the law, but there were times when he had to apply justice with his fists and his guns. They called in the Rangers to handle the tough ones, and there was never a Ranger tougher or smarter than Bowdrie.
Follow Bowdrie's adventures in these six classic westerns by America's favorite storyteller, Louis L'Amour:

"L'Amour is a master storyteller, who speaks personally to listeners about his life and stories in this collection of Texas Ranger Chick Bowdrie tales. As we join Chick in his adventures all over the Southwest, a full cast enhances the characterizations, and realistic sound effects and music dramatize the gunfights, saloon brawls, and cattle roundups." Would rather read under a tree on a summer day, than work.
I became addicted to the chick bowdry collections in the early 1990's. My sister
brought home a few louis lamore cassette tapes and wow I was hooked. I listened
when I clean house.
Anything by the author.
Uncredited is the voice of Chick Bower is.
Yes while I was sewing a quilt. I find that audiobooks help so much in my art
I would like to see more dramatization of all of the books.
The Chic Bowdrie Series have always been one of my favorite Louis L'Amour series. Great story lines. fun listening. I would recommend any of the Chic Bowdrie stories to anyone who enjoys a great western book.
I am a proud Mexican woman that loves words and reading/listening to books. I also believe that only through knowledge can we achieve progress.
Bowdrie and Louis L'Amour are classics from an era long gone. I LOVE listening to the stories and going back in time to when men were cowboys and gentlemen. LOTS of fun!
