The Cat Who Said Cheese | [Lilian Jackson Braun]

The Cat Who Said Cheese

The Expo begins with a literal bang: a bomb wrecks the hotel, killing a housekeeper and causing extensive damage. Luckily for Pickax, Qwill is on the scene, his moustache twitching with suspicions that this bomb was intended as something stronger than a warning to someone. His evidence: Koko and Yum Yum's new interest in cheese, especially Gruyere, Brie and Feta. Qwill and the Siamese are on a case that will demand all their feline intuition and mustachioed insight!

    Qwill

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Lots of editing

Would you ever listen to anything by Lilian Jackson Braun again?

Yes, but not because of this book. The very worst of his that I have listened to.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

    Great reader

What character would you cut from Cat Who Said Cheese?

wouldn't cut characters. Would cut the endless details about cheese and pastys

    Any additional comments?

Listened to this book on a road trip. We kept waiting for it to get better, it never did. It has a decent plot, but is full of really boring details about things that have nothing to do with the story. An example is listing 22 cheeses by name and characteristic that have nothing to do with the

I found this series of books by accident. I love George Guidall's voice and have listened to a few of the stories more than once because of this. This story is similar to others in the series. Its gentle, familiar and easy.
