If you don’t pay attention, you will have to rewind. This book is a good read with more of the same from the previous reads in this series. Some stuff is straight unbelievable. Unbelievable in the sense you are going to be like, yeah right, that could happen(sarcastically). I did enjoy it, the sound effects, had me looking around at times trying to figure out if that was the book or something going on near me, lol. The character development, always good, you feel like you know them especially by now. I’m being really vague as not to give away the juiciness. You will not get bored, excitement throughout. Wondering if there will be a #5.

I love Ashley & JaQuavis, and this series very much. However, this is just a horrible book. These great characters just reappear and we are expected to believe it with no explanation. The only bright spot is the truly awesome reading of Cary Hite, at least he never misses.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and they are enjoying it

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Carter. Love his swagger

Which character – as performed by Cary Hite – was your favorite?

    Carter

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The end

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait for book 5. When I first started reading book 1, I didn't think I was going to enjoy listening to the series. I have 4of my friends listening and they love it.

What disappointed you about The Cartel 4?

Tired of several things very quickly: sound effects - really? description of every piece of clothing worn, yawn....Basically, while the series was never great, it was a decent read. This last one will be my last one. Reads like a B rated movie..

What could JaQuavis and Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Add some polish. The storyline could really be compelling, but it just seems to devolve to the a bunch of cursing, descriptions of clothing, sex, crap. When they do attempt to show any depth or complexity to any of the characters, it starts to be interesting. It's quickly erased by something that portrays an extremely lucky/dumb/ super-human.

    Any additional comments?

I'm done. I need a story to end. It's clear this is a soap opera style book -- and I could care less what happens to any of the characters -- they're all just too shallow.

"I'm so attached to this series"
Where does The Cartel 4 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Probably 3rd or 4th.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Carter. He was strong, level-headed, mature, and loyal. He took charge of his family and I loved that about him.

What about Cary Hite’s performance did you like?

I loved his performance. He acted out each part and each character could easily distinguished.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the brothers put their differences aside.

    Any additional comments?

I was mad at first because I felt the twists ruined the first three books, but the story definitely stood on it's own and grew on me after a couple of chapters. There was some continuity issues also. I wasn't too crazy about the ending though. I will definitely check out part 5, but must say, I'm nervous about the direction they are going in, maybe because I'm so in love with young Carter. :) overall great book. I didn't want it to end.

    "Spirit's of the past"

This book is filled with the same drama that I like and have read in the previous Cartel series, with so many twists and turns it leaves you wanting more. I would go into detail about the characters but due to all the twists and turns of the previous Cartel series I don't want to give nothing away. The violence in the book is still what gives the book all the drama and give the readers an adrenalin rush. The narrator did an excellent job and brought life to this book and the characters will be having you say "wtf". Don't miss this one because it will leave you wanting more but it also answers questions that you may have formed in your head from the previous Cartel books.

    Any additional comments?

Im not going to lie. I have this book on my Kindle, but I couldnt get through it. It didnt peak my intrest. But with the miracle of audiobooks I gave it a chance. It seemed to drag on a bit in the beginning. Entertaining, but a bit slow. This book was all about the family falling apart. Not much drugs, violence, & "from the left" sex scenes. Well written, but something was a little off for me. NOW...the ending!! Thats what made me give this 4stars. As usual, great Ashley & Jaquavis, crazy ass ending....Ill be ready for part 5. This book is good, just get through the 1st half. its worth it.

Would you listen to The Cartel 4 again? Why?

Yes, the story was interesting and keep me on the edge of my seat.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cartel 4?

The men leaving the women and fly off together.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did, couldn't turn it off...

    Any additional comments?

Why are we waiting so long for Cartel 5...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

    Not really

What other book might you compare The Cartel 4 to and why?

    None

Did Cary Hite do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    Yes

Do you think The Cartel 4 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    Yes, I'm hooked

    Any additional comments?

After listening to the new Murderville, I had to relisten to Cartel 4. I kinda confused myself between the two series. Plus I wanted to be ready for Cartel 5. Can't wait.
This is what should be a mini series for TV. I'm tired of reality shows.
