Publisher's summary

Here is LAPD Detective Harry Bosch as we've never seen him before, in three never-before-collected stories.

In "Suicide Run", the apparent suicide of a beautiful young starlet turns out to be much more sinister than it seems. In "Cielo Azul", Bosch is haunted by a long-ago closed case: the murder of a teenage girl who was never identified. As her killer sits on death row, Bosch tries one last time to get the answers he has sought for years. In "One Dollar Jackpot", Bosch works the murder of a professional poker player whose skills have made her more than one enemy.

Whether investigating a cold case or fresh blood, Bosch relentlessly pursues his quarry, always on the lookout for the "tell". In this first collection of Harry Bosch stories, Michael Connelly once again demonstrates that he is the master of fast-paced, brilliantly plotted crime fiction.

Impressed? Ace detective Harry Bosch is also on the case in exciting Michael Connelly crime-fiction novels.

Excellent Book

It is great if you want an audio book that is short.
Sometimes I am not in the mood for a 12 hour listen.

You will enjoy this book

I expected to be short-changed, but was great

Aside from my wish that another narrator could give Harry more of the worldy and knowledeable character he is, and less gravelly geezer, I was pleasantly surprised by this group of short stories. I expected to regret the use of a credit for not fully fleshed out stories, but was very pleased to find the stories gave all the time and development needed to solve the mystery. All that was left out were the side stories of interpersonal relationships. It is a good read if you want interesting, fully-formed stories.

Michael Connelly is always a good choice.

Michael weaves you into details that may point to multiple conclusions. He leaves you guessing what Harry is seeing .

Nice short Harry Bosche stories. GREAT NARRATOR!

More good & solid stories by Michael Connelly. The comment I really want to make is that the narrator, Len Cariou, is GREAT. I was pleasantly surprised by the clear distinction between male characters, and the variety. This guy is a real pro, and possibly the best I have heard in 250+ audible books. Not that some others aren't close, but he is notable.

short stories between series

I really liked this book, this book consist of 3 Shirt stories with Harry Bosch. I admit I love the Harry Bosch series and listening to those series of books first made this book even better.
the first story had Kiz in it and deals with a case they were on before they became partners. this story broke my heart to think of how many models this crazy man had murdered and he will never get to pay for it because he committed suicide.
in the second story Harry and Terry work together, I admit I had always wanted to know the history behind their friendship and now I do, which includes the story and case of Cielo Azul.
in the last story Bosch deals with a murder that's kinda close to home for him, since his ex wife is a professional poker player. I believe this case was before he knew Mickey was his brother, but it's still a good one. I'm not a poker player so I had to listen to the way he caught the killer twice in order to really understand it.

Be warned...

Read the book description carefully! This is short!!!!! I made the mistake of thinking it was another in the Bosch series. Granted I was trying to get something quickly to listen to on a long ride... but still it was amazingly disappointing to hit the end so quickly.
