Good Listen.

Read this year's ago but don't remember the short stories others have mentioned in their reviews. Good value for the price.

Celeste. She is a strong female and full of faith in good.

If all the book was there.

Suspenseful

Listened to this one straight through. There are few characters, but they make the point. A suspenseful, scarey "halloween" kind of story. It's got a brother feud and a love interest, nether is resolved until the very end of the book. It's tinctured with time travel and I had fun reading it.

great read

Loved the story and the narrator did the book justice. Dream Koontz is a masterful writer.

Engrossing but somewhat predictable

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The one thing that really aggravated me was that Joey seemed to spend a long time sitting in the car talking with Celeste, wasting time when they first met and were figuring things out. I had to replay it to ensure he was DRIVING the car for part of that, not just waiting like a sitting duck. The redo device wore a bit thin.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dean Koontz? Why or why not?

Yes. Read a bunch. None bad.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in the library at the end. Gave me a huge smile.

Was Strange Highways worth the listening time?

Yes. It was shorter than the other Dean Koontz books I read. But I found the length just right.

Any additional comments?

I liked Joey immediately, despite all his problems and his sometimes odd behavior. Just hearing about his brother PJ turned me off to him. Loved Celeste--well-named!--truly an angel--from meeting her. I loved the final reversal of Joey's & P.J.'s life's work.

Not my favorite read.

I'm a big fan of Dean Koontz but this one just didn't work, I was actually very frustrated by the end of the book.

Great Story

I have trouble writing reviews, but this book had me so captured by the amazing storylines that I just had to note that if you love a horror story, this has that, and a great mystery, combined with time travel. I will listen to this many more times. This one offers an answer the question, if only I had done this.

Good listen

This was a good story. I like to be a little spooked by stories, but it is hard to find a story that does. Something about this one did a little.

Not All Short Stories

I enjoyed this story, but was under the impression that all the stories in the actual book would be included as well.
