Publisher's summary

It was in Bitten, Kelley Armstrong's debut novel, that 30-year-old Elena Michaels came to terms with her feral appetites and claimed the proud identity of a beautiful, successful woman - and the only living female werewolf.

In Stolen, on a mission for her own elite pack, she is lured into the net of ruthless Internet billionaire Tyrone Winsloe, who has funded a bogus scientific investigation of the "other races" and their supernatural powers. Kidnapped and studied in his underground lab deep in the Maine woods, these paranormals - witches, vampires, shamans, werewolves - are then released and hunted to the death in a real-world video game. But when Winsloe captures Elena, he finally meets his match.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Well written!

Really good story but I felt like the narrator’s voice was too mature for a 20ish woman - I would recommend though, really rich story!

love this series

I'm glad I read the book first. Narrator makes the main character sounds like a teenage boy. She cannot do the sexy southern accent for Clay. Otherwise good.

The narrator choice is very disappointing

Any additional comments?

After finishing the first book, Bitten, I was excited to listen to the rest of the series. I'm not too far into Stolen but am finding it hard to even listen to the narrator. She is pleasant enough to listen to overall but a terrible choice for this series, in my opinion...

good book bad narration

The narrator's voice is driving me crazy, why does she have to make Elena's voice so... manly? I've already read the book and loved it, I like to re-read and now I like to listen to books while I work. I cringe everytime Elena speaks, and there isn't much difference between other character's voices either. The narrator for Frostbitten is my favorite so far.

More suspenseful than the first.

Story was great! The characters actions felt realistic. I never once thought... 'why didn't they just do this?' The narrator was a little confusing in the beginning because some characters sounded too similar, but by the end the voices felt defined.
I agree her voice didn't fit for Elena's age, but I thought the attitude behind it was great. I do wish that Clay had more of a southern drawl from Louisiana. He sounds more like he's from North Carolina.

Horrible choice for Narrator

The narrator's voice was too old for the character and it was hard to get used to her voice. Her character interpretation was very male, and Elena, although tough, she's not that way. Story line great. Narrator bad.

Love the series

I love this series it makes me laugh and cry with the characters. The novella and short stories for the timeline are very good too.

Great story not great narrative

The first narrator in bitten was so much better. This book feels like elaina should have sultry tough voice not goofy like this one.

Bad Change of Narrator

Elena makes a great protagonist! The mediocre narrator could not capture the other characters. Worth enjoying even given that caveat.
