Publisher's summary

Carl Weber is the New York Times best-selling author of Baby Momma Drama and Player Haters. To be a member of the Big Girls Book Club, there's just one requirement: be a size 14 - at least.

Tammy, Egypt, Isis, Nikki, Coco, and Tiny are six voluptuous, feisty girlfriends who love a good book almost as much as they enjoy a good man. BGBC president Tammy is cooking up the perfect birthday present for husband Tim, but its success is totally dependent on her best friend Egypt's willingness to get frisky with them. Isis, meanwhile, has got two men competing for her affections - unlike Nikki, who's willing to do anything (with her roommate Tiny's help) to win her ex back. But none are getting more attention in the bedroom than Coco Brown, a married man-chasing gold digger who meets her match in a gigolo.

YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO THIS ONE!!!

This audiobook had me not wanting to get out of my car once I got to my destination. Some of the characters were straight ruthless and all about self but it's the drama that keeps you coming back for more. Loved, loved, loved the fact that the women were plus-sized; however, carried themselves with confidence and believed themselves to be big, beautiful and sexy. It was a nice change to know that the main characters didn't have to be model thin to be sought after by gorgeous, sexy and successful men and were successful themselves. I would definitely listen to this again and again!

mix reviews

This book was slow in some parts, great in others... When you get to a juicy or rather good part it switches over to another character I didnt like that one bit..My favorite character was Cocoa..........I wanted a "bad boy" in the mix to spice things abit in that regard. In the end an average okay read. Nothing to go omg over.

Isis narrator gave me a headache.

What did you love best about Something on the Side?

The story was good

Who was your favorite character and why?

Coco

How could the performance have been better?

Take out the narrator of isis. Tammy's character was also stupid. Tammy character annoyed me.

Story Line Amazing

I love the storyline of this book, however I strongly disliked the narrators reading of the story..... For one, the voices of the narrators do not match the personality of the characters. None of the voices match the characters ( in particular the voice of Isis and sometimes Tammy)! They didn't even sound right cursing. No offense but they sound older than the characters should've been. One of the ladies reading kept swallowing after every sentence she read, and you could hear it loudly during her reading. That made the book less enjoyable. Once I got past the constant loss of breath and swallowing of the narrator, it was a great book!! There's enough drama but not too much!! Each character storyline kept me invested

I loved it

Cocoa was hands down my favorite, but I loved the book. I can relate to a lot of what happened with each one of them

Worth the time

The narration wasn’t that bad and didn’t take away from the story. It was interesting and had a lot of “life lessons”. It was entertaining enough that I’ll move on to book 2.
