Excellent series

The Dresden Files is an excellent series and should be read from the first book. That being said however this book has some great stories that should not be missed.

Great book but don't read it out of order

This book is a compilation of Mr Butchers short stories that occur between or in one case before the other various novels if the Dresden Files series I find them a wonderful set of mini adventures into the Dresdenverse, especially the two written from the perspective of Thomas and Murphy.

I hope there will be more collections like this

This book allows us to take a peek into the larger world of Harry Dresden. Not only that, but it also allows us to peek into the world of Jim Butcher as a writer. we get to read a story that was written before he wrote Storm Front, the first book in the Dresden Files, and our trip ends with a story that was written specifically for this book. We see his writing grow as the series does.

I loved every story in this book. They give us insight into the characters and events of the series which weren't present in the books, although I didn't realize those insights were missing until… well… until they weren't. We get stories which couldn't have taken place in the books because they're outside of Dresden's point of view. All in all, this is a must-read for fans of the Dresden files.

As for narration, what can I say? James Marsters it's the ball right out of the park as always. When it comes to narrating books in the Dresden Files series, as Highlander puts it, there can be only one.

In the most satisfying way possible, this book left me wanting more. Sadly for me, I read it after I read Skin Game, the most recent book in the series. So now, I have quite a wait on my hands.

Satiation While Waiting for the Next Dresden

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it is especially excellent for driving.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Side Jobs?

The last story. Wanna talk about a heartstrings-puller....

Which scene was your favorite?

I love Dresden, so I can't pick just one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Always laughing with Jim Butcher & James Marsters. The reader's tone with the writer's flow and humor... I will never get enough!

Great short view

Great short views of Dresden’s world. Any of these could have been built up into novel or at least novella. Really enjoyed each one. Hoping for more Dresden soon.

Side Jobs

As usual Jim does not disappoint. The small stories are not only great but the story lines are so complete that you don't even notice the brevity. They flow evenly but succinctly together. Thanks to the author and support people this book manages to bring it all together. Kudos.

Everything you hope, and more.

This series of relatively short stories fills in gaps between the novels gives you stories written from the perspective of other favorite characters while showing the progression of Jim Butcher’s career and writing style. It’s read by James Marsters, the same brilliant reader as always. It includes a story from Thomas’ perspective and a novella about what Karen Murphey does after book 12 ends, showing up for her date and finding Dresden missing. A great collection. I loved it!

Great exposure for minor characters

Charming stories that gave great exposure for characters that didn't get the limelight in the full novels. Having read all of Butcher's full novels I had a frame of reference for what was going on and before each story he states when on the timeline it occurs, but after SO many novels it was still a little hard to remember when exactly between book 10 & 11 was.

Enjoyable

The author tells you where each story falls in the big picture. It was pleasant to hear a POV from Thomas and then Murphy. As usual, the narration is excellent.
