Mary Monroe is a great storyteller! This book is the lastest in her ability to weave together characer development and great dialogue. Ms. Monroe is great at descriptive storytelling and plot development. She is graphic at talking about benign deception, getting caught, developing remorse, and having to accept one's fate. This is a great read for everyone who wants it all but is doing it because 1) they don't know how to say no, 2) they want to feel good, 3) they don't know how to stop, and 4) they are in over their head. This is a great book and is highly recommended!
A new transplant to Long Island, NY that enjoys techno thrillers, apocalyptic, and epic stories. I used to fly through books during my hour commute--but now, I'm in the car about a quarter of that time :(
Not a bad book. It's definately an interesting read from Ms. Patricia R. Floyd, who is always great. However, the book has a few things in it that just seem implausible, and overly dramatic, but that's usually par for the course for novels like these. Very entertaining.
I enjoyed the audible version better than the printed version.
The main character was my favorite because she was so ope and honest about her feelings.
I enjoy all of Patricia R. Floyd's books. She is one of my favorite narrators.
I was moved by the main character feeling empathic to a man she once solely loved.
I would recommend this book because it was interesting from beginning to end.
I would have left out the foreshadowing in the beginning and let all of the events come as a surprise. Throughout the beginning, I kept waiting for this big moment that was eluded to in the first 10 minutes.
Patricia Floyd always does well.
Yes. I want to hear about the state of the character's relationship. And I need more drama! :)
I have read several of Mary Monroe's books, and she comes up with the best storylines. One area I keep thinking she will grow in is description of love sceens, but it doesnt happen. For example, she will use 10 sentences to describe someones slobber or smell, but then say "we did it" for a love sceen. ????
While I can appreciate a storyline with a well-developed character, this book could have been wrapped up in about 5 hours. Way too much time was spent on her childhood. The incessant sex with her boyfriend got old ... quickly. I felt like I was reading a teenager's diary! It eventually picked up and came to an anti-climactic end.
