Publisher's summary

When it comes to sizzling urban drama, Sasha Campbell is at the very top of the game. In Scandals, Monica Houston is a newly divorced mom who makes ends meet as an exotic dancer at Scandalous, the hottest club around. But if the ex finds out, she runs the risk of losing her kids.

Meanwhile, sexy dancer Robin Wright thinks she might be in over her head when her sister is sent to jail and her nephew is thrust into her care. Unprepared for this new role, Robin finds herself falling for the kid’s “big brother”, even as she tries to prove her sister’s innocence.

It was ok...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I commute to work daily so really any book is time well spent. This one kept me woke on the road but it was not all that exciting.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I think what made it most interesting (and maybe most predictable) was waiting on the characters to get themselves out of the most obviously inappropriate choices.

Would you be willing to try another one of Karen Pittman and Krystal King ’s performances?

I might try another if it were a daily special.

Could you see Scandals being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It could definitely be a movie - one of those mindless movies you watch on a lazy Saturday.

kept my attention

What did you like best about Scandals? What did you like least?

I liked that it touches on a different culture of people and it was realistic and didn't over exaggerate and offset stereotypical topics with regular people of the same culture, what I didn't like is the lack of description of things such as food and surrounding to paint a better picture

Would you be willing to try another book from Sasha Campbell? Why or why not?

I would try another book just because it is different than what I usually listen to

Would you listen to another book narrated by Karen Pittman and Krystal King ?

I like the tag team narration

Do you think Scandals needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would enjoy a follow up book, I actually prefer sequals and book series

Any additional comments?

My favorite author is Jr ward and Molly harper, they are very much more discriptive but honestly not realistic as this book and this book hits closer to home as a black man, so I would love to see more of this author

Nice book

This book is a good one. The only thing that I didn’t like was that it could have been shorter. Some of the characters were basically saying the same thing.

Wow, This is Great book

Everybody has a story to tell and this story opens with the tale of two distraught women. Neither woman has the skills or the degree for BIG MONEY at minimum wages. They found a friendship that became unbreakable working as exotic dancers. Cheating husbands, liars, child abuse, murder, secrets, love & mind shifting for a better life found in that club.

5 STARS

Loved it! Good from the first word to the last. This book is about two women who do what they have to do to take care of their families & themselves. One was betrayed by her husband (He was lucky she didn't go Betty Broderick on his behind ). The other was orphaned & betrayed by the system. To those who say " I would never" ,DON'T JUDGE!

Scandals had me at the edge of my seat

This book was amazing and had me at the edge of my seat. I love how the author brought these characters to life with words and the Narrators were the perfect match for this book. I have read other books by Sasha Cambell and really like all of them she is a brilliant author. Her characters are confident and deal with real life drama/situations that keep people engrossed in her writing and wanting to find out what's going to happen next. What I liked most is that each characters conflicts played a role in the way that they lived their lives. My favorite character was Monica because I feel as if she was most like me. I can totally relate to the part of the book where her true weekend occupation was found out by her love interest. In my case it was my older brother and his friends so I knew how she felt because I had once been in her shoes. I would recommend this book to anyone who is openminded and looking for something interesting to listen to. Sometimes as people grow they have to find their own way to their dreams, and in order to do that they have to take a journey and stumble onto paths along the way that weren't on the map. I feel that this book has great life lessons and each character made decisions the best way that they knew how to. Those stumbling blocks and decisions are what make this book a great read.

Very Entertaining read

The book was very entertaining and suspenseful. The narrator for Robyn did a great job however the narrator for Monica struggled in some areas.
I would recommend you read this.

I thought overall the book was good & really kept my attention. It did end pretty happily ever after but I still enjoyed it.
