Publisher's summary

Hidden deep beneath Manhattan lies a warren of tunnels, sewers, and galleries, mostly forgotten by those who walk the streets above. There lies the ultimate secret of the Museum Beast.

When two grotesquely deformed skeletons are found deep in the mud off the Manhattan shoreline, museum curator Margo Green is called in to aid the investigation. Margo must once again team up with police lieutenant D'Agosta and FBI agent Pendergast, as well as the brilliant Dr. Frock, to try and solve the puzzle. The trail soon leads deep underground, where they will face the awakening of a slumbering nightmare.

Prolong the suspense: listen to the first book, Relic.

Critic reviews

The netherworld of New York City...proves as shuddery a setting for the authors' latest scientific monster mash as the American Museum of Natural History did for their bestselling Relic, to which this is the sequel. ( Publishers Weekly)
"This should do for the New York subway system what Jaws did for Long Island beaches." ( Booklist)
"Dick Hill's reading of this fascinating sequel to Relic builds the suspense and horror." ( AudioFile)

Gripping five stars Sequel

A gripping edge of your seat sequel to theRelic with a twist at the end you’ll never see coming! It kept me riveted from start to finish. A five star thriller sequel to “the relic“ we meet the characters again or year

Awesome story.

I was waiting for this book to turn “cheesy” at some point or rushed. Neither happened. Well done. Dick Hill’s performance lifted the book even further.

Good - very similar to Relic

If you enjoyed Relic you'll enjoy this. Not essential that you read that first but would definitely help.

Great follow up to Relic!!

If you could sum up Reliquary in three words, what would they be?

The story builds upon the framework of the initial novel in this series Relic is a clever and intriguing manner. A real page turner. Don't peak ahead!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot has a number of wonderful twists and turns that use both new and old characters to build upon over the entire length of the book. A great read or listen.

Which scene was your favorite?

Again in this book the exploration sequences in subterranean New York city are well done and you will not want to stop in these sections.

Who was the most memorable character of Reliquary and why?

Pendergast is the king of these books however the other characters get great coveraage and come to life nicely. Pendergast is the new Sherlock Holmes!

Any additional comments?

Very nice narration and story telling.

Terrific storyline and very suspenseful.<br />

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Pendergast is very articulated and the scientific methods in this book are very realistic.

Good performance...

The narrator did a very good job using different voices for the characters. Very engaging.

Even Better than Relic

I enjoyed this book even more than Relic and the performer was also much better.

I cant get over the reader's voices

this is my least favorite of the Pendergast novels, but it's hard to know if it was because of the writing or because of the performance. I'd like to hear it again with Scott Brick reading. He can turn a mediocre novel good and a good novel great.
