Narrators voice grows on you.
Great book. I have read this and listened to it. I enjoyed it both times! The narrator’s voice reminds me of Judy Garland’s from the wizard of oz.
The movie came out this year but the first 5 minutes was filled with cussing so no. But we his book has zero cussing. I needed to hear this story because I have shame and God used this book to help me on the road of healing.
Francine Rivers does an epic job of character development. I felt I knew and loved all of the characters.

An old story brought to life.
I loved this book. While dealing with complex, delicate topics it was written in a way that could help you understand the horrible experiences of others while not having to go into explicit detail. It was tastefully written and challenged bias I did not realize I had by attaching humanity to women caught in horrendous circumstances. Faith promoting without being overly preachy.
