Critic reviews

"Dekker pens an absorbing thriller that convincingly blurs the lines between fantasy and reality....The Christian symbolism woven into the story will delight readers of faith, and the intriguing plot will interest general fantasy readers." (Publishers Weekly)

Bad Narration

The actual voicing itself isn’t bad, however, the narrator constantly changes the pronunciation of the names of key characters.

It’s actual quite frustrating as a listener.

WOW

This trilogy was unbelievable! I had no idea what I had gotten myself into when I downloaded the 1st book--BLACK. It took me awhile to get through that one, but then RED & even WHITE, I couldn't wait to go on trips to hear what was going to happen next. I was in tears as the correlation between the Bible & these 3 books became clear.
If you are trying to decide if or if not, give it a chance---it will amaze you and cause you to think. I know that there are times when something from one of the three books will come back to my memory and all of a sudden it clicks as to what it REALLY means.

The continuing story doesn't disappoint!

Many times the second and third books in a series fall short of the mark, but this series delivers! Each one is better than the one before, and Dekker doesn't back down from tackling the difficult subjects. Ted Dekker is fast becoming my favorite author. His books are powerful, rich allegories which tackle really difficult theological subjects in a head on, dynamic way.

Thrilling adventure that will cause you to LOVE.

Tinted with thrilling fantasy, Ted Dekker reveals the true nature of his belief system. This adventure is heart pounding and filled with treacherous obstacles. Beautifully scripted and laced within is the true nature of love. Its origins are acted out with pure and honest motives that will motivate you to reach to the only place in the universe that you can receive it! GET THIS! IT'S WORTH IT!

ROB LAMONT as narrator - THE ABSOLUTE BEST! I feel like a kid again!

Best Trilogy of All Time!

Favorite trilogy of all time. I grew up reading and rereading Black, Red, and White. There's nothing like them, they are definitely in a league of their own. Try it, you won't be sorry you did!

Relief, Joy--White is next!

I read "Black" in print. I couldn't put it down. But I was hesitant to switch to audio for "Red". What a relief! And what a joy! The story was every bit as exciting and spellbinding as the first book. The characters are interwoven so elegantly. Hardly "paper-thin" by any stretch. Half-way through hearing "Red" I caught myself spending much time contemplating the relationships between characters and their likely evolutions. I began thinking of them almost as actual people, not characters in a story, and the events as real happenings in the world. I actually worried about these people. Ha!

The narration was quite good. That, also, was a relief. My only concern with the reader is that he seemed to confuse or accidentally exchange the characters' voices from time to time during fast-paced dialogue. It didn't really detract from the experience, but it was noticeable.

I won't bother flipping through "White" in the book store. I'm going to download the audiobook tomorrow!
