This is the first installment of a fierce new series by the co-author of Desperate Hoodwives, featuring an intimate look at the scandalous life of a wifey who uses her sex appeal and street smarts to make it big.
In the hood, every day is about struggle and survival, and no one understands that daily grind more than 22-year-old Kaeyla “Goldie” Dennis. She’s been the “wifey” of an older, wealthy man since she was 15, but the discovery of their longtime affair by his real wife brings to a crushing end her hood-fabulous lifestyle in their low-rise project in Newark.
After trying every hustle she can think of to make money, including selling knockoff clothing and bootleg DVDs, Goldie gets an irresistible offer from a sexy strip-club owner. She becomes the club’s biggest act and takes her show on the road, running her own strip club on the weekends in her apartment. But Goldie’s love of money causes her to make decisions that bring on enemies, and the ultimate test comes when she’s gang-raped, beaten, and almost killed. When an offer for her silence is made, will she choose money over self-respect?

“A gritty new urban series with a down and dirty intensity.” (Publishers Weekly)
LIFE just happens that way sometimes!
This book wasn't bad I think the best part about this book is the ending and how the internal conflict regarding money or your self comes into perspective. This book is for the young readers. Right is right and wrong is wrong on all levels.
I could not stop listening, I enjoyed this book sooo much. From beginning to the end this book was off the chain!!! I cant wait to read more from this author!!
In the top 10
Goldie was my favorite character. She had a lot of values, self-esteem, and was honest with herself.
When Goldie took charge and finally decided that she would no longer be involved with her older man after he disowned her when his wife found out about their relationship.
Goldie, because she was real and fun and even though she chose to make her money the way she did, Lord knows that she tried to be a good person with values.
I highly recommend this book. It is well written and the narrator brought so much life and compassion, and laughter to the main character's struggles and triumphs.
I listened to the whole story. But it was too much rambling about her p*ssy walls or throbbing p*ssy. It just wasn't necessary. There were some good parts but more unnecessary dialogue. I think the author had a good idea. The book may interest younger readers. I wouldn't suggest it to the mature readers and/or listeners.
Say something about yourself!
Absolutely....its what happening everyday
Goldie...she is very truthful...and understand the consequences of what she does
When Goldie bet the hell out of her ex-step daughter
Real Wifeys: On the Grind
not at all...absolutely service
The title needs to match the content of the book. This was more about thirsty, greedy gold diggers and how to stay on that grind.
I just did not feel the story line.
Call me Bubblez
I would definitely recommend this title to a friend....The author was exceptional in writing this lovely book and the narrator was just awesome....She brought life to the book...I could relate to this title....its what's happening everyday....

The narrator truly brought Goldie to life. I was on the edge of my seat.
