Publisher's summary

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and its prequel, Dawn of the Dreadfuls, were both New York Times best sellers, with a combined 1.3 million copies in print. Now the PPZ trilogy comes to a thrilling conclusion with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After.

The story opens with our newly married protagonists, Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy, defending their village from an army of flesh-eating unmentionables. But the honeymoon has barely begun when poor Mr. Darcy is nipped by a rampaging dreadful. Elizabeth knows the proper course of action is to promptly behead her husband (and then burn the corpse, just to be safe). But when she learns of a miracle antidote under development in London, she realizes there may be one last chance to save her true love - and for everyone to live happily ever after.

Fun book

Any additional comments?

Not as good as the first in the series, but still a good listen. Even though it drags a little, it is still very funny.

Absolutely Hilarious

What made the experience of listening to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After the most enjoyable?

I read the paperback of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and loved it. I decided that I would get the audiobook for the sequel and I was not disappointed. The best part about this audiobook is the narrator. The Victorian style of writing while talking about zombies is just amplified by having a proper British woman narrating. I found that I was laughing out loud numerous times while listening to this, and I am sure the people around me at work thought I was insane.

What about Katherine Kellgren’s performance did you like?

I loved the poshness she added to some of the characters and guffawed at the battle cries. Very well done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed hysterically numerous times.

Abominable Scottish Accent

Overall performance was good, but portrayal and Scottish accent for Angus M. was absolutely awful. At times I almost wanted to turn it off, but gritted my teeth until she was on to another character.

Nice sequel

What made the experience of listening to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After the most enjoyable?

To continue the story of PPZ. Maybe there is a cure for the illness and England will be freed of Zombies :)

What did you like best about this story?

Very entertaining and very well read. It shows the characters as unconventional people for the era in which they lived in, a bit like Austen's Elizabeth in the original book.

Which scene was your favorite?

The last one when Darcy and Elizabeth were fighting off the zombies side-by-side.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would, but wanted to stretch it a bit since this was the last of the series and I truly enjoyed these three books. A few years ago when PPZ came out, I was not interested at all...could not imaging how it would look proper for 19th century young ladies to be warriors. I was wrong...

Any additional comments?

These books are meant to be funny and entertaining, so don't take offense if you are a Jane Austen's fan.

Best of the Series

The narration was GREAT! I couldn't stop listening. I don't know that I would have actually read it with the same perspective. The different characters came alive. Ending was a little abrupt and detracted from the overall experience.

More Good Fun!

What did you love best about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After?

Katherine Kellgren's performance made the story and characters real.

If you could take any character from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Elizabeth Bennet. Most fascinating.

Any additional comments?

Although I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the first "Pride & Prejudice & Zombies," it was still a good read and an excellent performance by the narrator.

I can't believe how popular this was for a while

it's a cute idea I guess, but a lot of liberty was taken with the characters. were it not for the name recognition of the characters from P&P and that it's fun to imagine them leading a Gorey, badass life, the book would fall utterly flat.

Episodic Content As Compared to Books 1 and 2.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book as a continuation of the other two books in the series, but it would not stand on its own without some attachment already established with the Characters. In this case, it was a relationship that was well established and make the book a good read.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The book had very few high points after reaching a climax in the first pages. It almost reminded me of a book written completely for a conversion over to a movie. The scene descriptions were lacking in places. The fights were, if played out in real-time, only described to the length of a few seconds.

What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Katherine Kellgren is absolutely wonderful with her voicing of the characters. Without her I feel that the book would have been discontinued within the first few hours as a lack of forward momentum and predictability.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book in sessions of 1.5 hours at a time. That was sufficient for the pace of the book.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend the consumption of the books in order to avoid a lack of interest in the characters in this shift book.
