Very, very, very long

A very long audio book. Invested hours and days listening to the lives of three adults who sign up to be escorts for lonely or men on the downlow. I understood Ilene, Faye but Alana need the therapy she received. Faye and Ilene were characters to connect with. Alana was needy borderlining on stupid. The ending was disappointing. Alana should've confronted the baby's' father, he had a right to know and if not, he should have been jailed for what he did.

Faye and Bart had a relationship that could happen in reality. I hated the reader didn't get to hear their HEA other than the mention by the Madam. Would've love to hear about their wedding and children through their voice instead of grandma and her boytoy.

Didnt Really Care for it

What would have made Pleasure Seekers better?

i don't really know, it just dragged on forever and really had no point to me

What was most disappointing about Rochelle Alers’s story?

it was really slow and made too many references to color

How did the narrator detract from the book?

i think some of her characters sounded mammy-ish (I know that is not a word)

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Pleasure Seekers?

Not really sure, just seemed like a lot of it was filler

Silly Fluff

Silly premise, predictable ending. OK for something light weight to help you sleep.

Boredom finders

The first two hours of this book are so monotonous and dull that I'd rather be listening to just about anything else. The plot has so far managed to be both far fetched and unimaginative - 3 beautiful women of color whose men have all proved disappointing will now be paid up to $5000 a day to spend time with rich men. The problem is, everyone is so aloof and professional they are virtually indistinct and completely unconnected and uninvolving. I couldn't care less what happens to any of them. I also think the publisher could have gotten an Africain Americain to narrate as the pasty midwestern accent just makes a flat story flatter.
A sad waste of time and money.

STRUGGLED TO FINISH....AND COULDN'T DO IT SMH

I've listened to a number of audiobooks that, though the storyline may have left much to be desired, I was still able to get through it because the narrator still managed to bring the author's words to life. THIS is NOT one of those times.

I wasn't aware that the narrator was Caucasian, and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me, UNLESS the narrator is unable to BECOME those characters that they're portraying, such as the case here. The mispronounced slang and her overly dry monotone drove me nuts and the fact that she has no idea who rapper/actor XZibit is, made painfully evident when she incorrectly pronounced his name, was cringe worthy.

I made it to chapter 9, and even THAT was a feat that I should be paid for lol. Since this was a purchase made under my Romance Package deal, I can (and absolutely SHALL) return it for another book, so no love lost. However, it does leave me skeptical about giving this author another shot. As long as it's not this narrator again though, I just might....
