Publisher's summary

Number-one best-selling author Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels are: "irresistible" (Houston Chronicle), "stunning" (Booklist), "outrageous" (Publishers Weekly), "brilliantly evocative" (The Denver Post), and "making trouble and winning hearts" (USA Today).

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don't just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don't do what Tiki tells you to do.

After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Since the hospital staff's lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it's hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case.

The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money - or maybe just desperate - Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again - a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid's dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone.... Or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she'll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

Very Enjoyable, But No Surprises

I always enjoy the Stephanie Plum books, and this was no exception. But there were no surprises, either. And after 19 books, there needs to be something new every now and again or it's going to get dull...

Not bad

I don't know why everyone has said this book is so bad. It was a little short but it was much better than the last Stephanie book and I really enjoyed it.

Once again Janet Evanovich brings home the comedy

I enjoy the books for the comedy and the in your face to socieity.

Plus sometimes the food discriptions are just wonderful.

Also the characters seem real they are full of flaws and yet they continue to survive.

I enjoy the books. I like listening to the books because when I drive it takes my mind off the traffic and makes a dull humdrum drive light hearted.

Plum Entertaining

What made the experience of listening to Notorious Nineteen the most enjoyable?

The characters.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Equally well.

Any additional comments?

As with all Stephanie Plum novels, you know what you're going to get. Wacky characters, harebrained schemes, outlandish outcomes, but all in all extremely entertaining and with an actual story line that, surprisingly, holds together despite the mayhem.

Another Stephanie Plum hit

Where does Notorious Nineteen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

High on the enjoyment list...just plain fun, light and entertaining.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really, the plots of these books are not real good mysteries but I am OK with that because I enjoy the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I listened over a few days, spread out the fun. It isn't a page turning thriller that you want to gobble up all at one time. Trite expression, it is what it is, and I enjoy that and look forward to the next book.

Best Plum in a while.

Where does Notorious Nineteen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Plum books are formulaic and are really just a fun way to pass the time. Ranking them against literary works of art would be unfair. As far as guilty pleasure formula books go though, Plum books are my favorite, and 19 is one of the better ones.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Notorious Nineteen?

There is a slight break from formula in 19. We get a little more insight into Stephanie and there was a brief moment when I thought the author would add a little more depth to the Ranger character.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

It's always grandma.

Who was the most memorable character of Notorious Nineteen and why?

Tiki. He told me to write that.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Of course Loula,

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did....

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book, author, and reader. As an Arts and Crafter, which I work with my hands, it's important to me to have a good book and reader while I am working. My Granddaughter has work with me for 3 years, she loves the books.
