Publisher's summary

The untimely passing of the beloved New York Times best-selling author E. Lynn Harris has left fans pining for more. With this collaboration, fans are given the book they've been clamoring to read - and the book that Harris and Essence best-selling author R. M. Johnson long wanted to write.

Cobi Winslow, a handsome, well-educated district attorney, knows nothing about the life of his estranged twin brother, Eric Reed, a career criminal raised in the foster-care system. Following their parents' death, Cobi searches for and finds his brother, hoping to regain lost years.

Meanwhile, Cobi navigates the pressures of society as he lives life in the closet. The stress comes to a head when he learns that, in order to inherit the wealth of his father's estate and save the struggling family business, he must marry a woman before he turns 35. The task becomes more convoluted when Cobi's sister proposes to pay Austen Greer, a once-successful and wealthy businesswoman who lost everything in the recession, to be Cobi's wife.

Eric discovers Cobi is gay and promises to keep it a secret. Instead, he entrusts the information to his former prison cellmate, Blac, who endears himself to Cobi in hopes of securing a $150,000 loan from him to pay back a debt racked up by cocaine sales. As the clock runs down both on Blac's efforts to pay his deadly creditor and on Cobi's attempts to save the family company, rash moves are executed, family and friendship bonds are tested, and life-altering sacrifices are made.

Awesome, can't wait for part 2

At first I was not thrilled about the narrators voice. But then I heard the change in characters and I was in. This book was sooo juicy, funny, sad, all in one. I would surely recommend adding it to your library.

PROFOUND AND MEANINGFUL

What did you love best about No One in the World?

Once in a while there comes a writer that give the reader the impression that writing for the writer is seemingly effortless since every word carries a message making reading just as effortless and real.
This is what this writer does every time I have read his work. It's a though the reader can be transported via the writers experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

COBI WINSLOW to me holds the cast together while never once letting us forget that his issues are as important as those of a the entire cast. He has a level headed approach to life that seems to pay off in the end.

What about Alan Bomar Jones’s performance did you like?

He makes you feel the writing with all its hidden tones and nuances, plots and sub plots.

If you could rename No One in the World, what would you call it?

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND

Any additional comments?

This is a must read for anyone who does or does not read as much as I do, since the reader will always come away understanding why "It takes all types to make a world"

Very interesting storyline!!

This book is full of twists and turns. I’m just curious what happened to Colby and how the story ended.

contrived and convoluted

80+ chapters of "meh". it might sound weird to say a book was too expository, but this one definitely was. so much was over-explained or repeated so often, it's as if they didn't trust the reader/listener to post attention. too much time was spent on detailing the opulence of (or lack thereof) the characters that could have been better used on plot and an actual ending...

the voice acting didn't help, either. all of the characters sounded cartoony. too over the top and exaggerated.

Disappointed

Plot was far fetched and yet predictable. Story line dragged out - it was slow and hard to stay engaged.

AWESoMe - 2 great authors knock it out the PARK!

Nothing is as expected, but it all happens so intensely. The character development is phenomenal. I felt like a fly on the wall in the life of.... And the narrator was superb. I am looking for more books by the author and the narrator.

Interesting

It keep my attention until the end. The narrator isn’t the best but better than some others I’ve heard. The ending could’ve been better or either a book 2.
