Joe Hill tells the story of decrepit child thief Charlie Manx, who travels the country in his Rolls Royce Wraith taking mistreated kids to Christmasland, where they live happily forever playing games like "bite the smallest" and "scissors for the drifter". Joe Hill weaves quite a tale and sets up an exciting conclusion. Kate Mulgrew builds on great writing with her performance of these characters.

I love horror. I don’t love killing animals
I have 9 hours left. I’m loving the story and the Freddy vibe it gives off… I’m in tears at the moment because they smashed a dog’s head a few seconds ago. I read a ton of reviews on this before I read it and no one mentioned this… am I the only one sensitive to it? I almost don’t want to finish it now…

My favorite listen in a long while
I was i
nitially attracted to BOS4A2 because of Kate Mulgrew, one of my favorite actresses. She was wonderful. A couple of hours in, I had to know if joeHill had other books and was delighted to learn that there are more. The story was thrilling, terrifying, original and beautiful. Wonderful characters. I loved it to pieces!

Horrifically Entertaining
this book is not for the faint of heart. you will be horrified yet entertained. starts a bit slow like you're riding a roller coaster to the top and then immediately takes you for a thrilling nose dive.
the suspense never ends. the narrator does a fantastic job at bringing Joe Hill's book to life.
