I believe this novel by Author Niobia Bryant, was her debut novel, and she knocked it out the ball park with this work, which was cleverly written.

My version of this novel was an audiobook purchased from Audible.com. It was narrated by (the seductive voice of), Scoozi Cheyenne. It plays 8 hours and 44 minutes, which is about the average time 8 to 10 hours, and it's Publisher: Recorded Books.

I loved the way Author Niobia weaved this tale because the mistress within this story took a back seat to her three friends Jaime, Renee and Aria who all had some deep dark secrets which was unknown to each other but the mistress who had highjacked one of their husband's.

The character development was excellent. The plot was driven by curiosity because you wanna know who's husband wasn't coming home, while the subplots revealed the reasons of how a backstabbing bitch was afforded the opportunity to place them in their situation.

What situation, you asked? Well, these three women, Jaime, Renee and Aria all received a text message from their friend, Jessa while having a spa day. The message told them that she had been sleeping with one of their husbands, and that they were in love, they brought a house together, and that him and her was running off to live happily ever after. That's the situation I'm talking about.

These women sum up their lives in the few agonizing hours afforded to them before they learn which of their husband's will not be returning from their fishing trip. -And you know what the mind can do to you when haven't been living right. You know what I'm talking about. That little affair you had, that walk on the wild side, lying on your ovaries, and little stuff like that can really weight on ones emotions, and it does.

The writing is clever, the characters are real, the situation happens more often than not. I gave this novel 4 stars out of 5. It will surly entertain you, and make you wonder about how you living.

If i was actually holding the book in my hand, i wouldn't put it down, definitely kept my interest...

Terrible Narrator

What didn’t you like about Soozi Cheyenne’s performance?

This narrator was not the best. She smacked which was highly annoying. She also had inappropriate pauses. This almost made me request a refund on the book. I'm not done with the book and just could not wait to vent my fruistration with this narrator. If I find it too unbearable I will just get a refund and read it for myself.

GOOD BUT DISAPPOINTING

I agree with both Amarylis and Amanda. The story leaves you hanging at the end and the sex scenes were just too many. And...I don't like being forced to buy a second part to find out "who did it". The only reason I purchased this book was because I was gonna buy Mistress No More but found that this was the first so I decided to listen in order. If I had known then what I know now, I'd have skipped the first book and went right to the second book. As much as I'm dying to find out who did it, I'm going to wait for more reviews to come out on the second book. Overall, unless you like lots of sex scenes and don't mind being left hanging at the end, don't bother. Just skip to the second book.

Not a very creative writer

How many times do you use the word "huskily"? I found it incredibly annoying.

And I'm starting to get annoyed with black writers playing emphasis on the same things: skin complexion, long hair, and the constant mention of brands.

The story idea is interesting but the ending is a let down.

This story got better as it went on. At first...I was kinda into it but kept listening cause I wanted to know who's husband it was. Then as it slowly got better the end left me hanging cause I had to find out what was next...so I quickly purchased the second book.

This story goes up and down, up and down. Meaning it slow for a minute....then it's good....then slow again...then you like OMG, this is good. Overall good story...but don't be surprise it you start like..."ok, not sure if I'm gonna like this."

Love the Mystery and storyline

Very good lesson learned. You do not know who she was cheating with.
