Mary Monroe is a New York Times best-selling author who pens tales of life’s emotional tapestry. Lost Daughters follows Maureen Montgomery and her daughter, Loretta, as they strive to make a life after the death of Maureen’s domineering mother. Forever scarred by Mama Ruby’s tyrannical ways, Maureen longs for a quiet, simple life. But Loretta has something far different in mind. Dreaming of fame and fortune, she embarks on a modeling career. Mama Ruby, however, casts a shadow with the power to darken their lives.

Didn't feel my time was well spent. After listening to and thoroughly enjoying the other books in the series, I was very excited to start this story. I found myself irritated by the characters, unable to root for any of them.
It pains me to say that I was thrilled when it was over.
The characters often sounded too much alike...
"The Upper Room" and "Mama Ruby" were really fantastic stories- this one just didn't grip me the way they did. But I will continue to read work by this talented author!
Lost daughters was a great book. I loved the fact that it taught nemours stories in one awesome book!!
The most interesting was Lorretta and her personality, most of all, the outcome.....The least interesting, ummm idk. This book was great!
Lorretta's life outcome.
the storyline should have moved along a lot faster.
the first 3hours of the book are actually really good; they draw you into the story, however from there it goes down hill.
most of it. its like the author set up the storyline, but it doesn't really move. It keeps reiterating the same information over and over again with the exception of throwing in a couple extra characters.
I was happy that this book didn't focus on sex, drugs, and violence like most black books, but to my disappointment this book was dreadfully uneventful and it moved at a very slow pace. To give you an example, I fell asleep during the last 2 and 1/2 hours of the book. I awoke just 15minutes before the book ended and I was able to follow everything that happened without rewinding.
Someone who likes dissertations and fairy tale-like situations.
Getting to a point or conclusion took and excruciating long time. It made the plots too long and drawn out for a disappointing end.
I could not always distinguish between the characters unless they were introduced
I love the author's other books and I believe it could have been edited to remove the wordiness
This read had been exasperating because I want to get to the end but the characters do unrealistic things and the author just will not get to the point!
