Good Read

Not the best by Diana Gabledon but still, even at her "not best" she is way ahead of whomever is in second place. The whole Outlander series has me wanting her to put out a book every week. Impossible but one can wish.

Another great Novella

Fantastic narrator as usual! Fascinating and provocative glimpse into Seven year's war politics, set against a web of interpersonal relationships.

Good Stuff

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this audiobook. It gives some good background information into the history between John & Percy, and the nasty argument between John & Jamie that led to John secretly figuring out that Jamie had been raped by someone in the past. Events in this book come up again in ECHO and MOHB, so it's nice to have that background knowledge.

What other book might you compare Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade to and why?

Gosh, I don't know. I don't think I CAN compare it to another book, except for another Lord John book!!

Which scene was your favorite?

Maybe that argument between John & Jamie. John goes there for help and ends up alienating Jamie instead.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Um... I'm no good at marketing. Maybe... "When a man REALLY loves his brother...." hahaha

Any additional comments?

This is a really good book. However, as John and Percy are lovers, there are some scenes that are quite graphic. So if you're uncomfortable with that, maybe get the whispersync version so you can do a little peek here & there of the text to try to skip it and then start listening again? I got through it, but came out with alot more insight into how "things are done" than I had before.

Excellent.

Right up there in quality commensurate with the major novels in the Outlander series. I thoroughly enjoyed.

Not as good as the Outlander series

I am a diehard Fan of The Outlander Series. I live in wait of the next book in the series and have even listened to another Lord John book but I am having trouble getting into this one (only on chapter 18). Usually I cannot stop listening/reading anything by Diana Gabaldon.
