Publisher's summary

Sile is a stylish citizen of the new Dublin, a veteran flight attendant who's traveled the world. Jude is a 25-year-old archivist, stubbornly attached to the tiny town of Ireland, Ontario, in which she was born and raised. On her first plane trip, Jude's and Sile's worlds touch and snag at Heathrow Airport. In the course of the next year, their lives, and those of their friends and families, will be drawn into a new, shaky orbit.

Meh,

Too Confusing for me. The story started out great then I lost track of it. I couldn't finish it.

No chapter breaks

The audio was hard to follow because of no chapter breaks but the story and narration were wonderful

Ruined a good book

It’s a real shame this audio production was so bad - the Irish accents are so terrible and horribly distracting. It takes all of the authenticity from the characters. I couldn’t get very far and probably won’t finish listening because it’s so poorly performed.

Lovely

Jude is a small-town woman running a historical museum in rural Ontario; Sile is a urbanite Dublinner air stewardess who jet-sets the world and keeps the internet within reach of the palm of her hand. When Jude is forced to fly to the UK for family reasons, the passenger beside her passes away in his sleep, and it's Sile who speaks with Jude, and their world changes.

So much more than a romance, this story is full of interwoven philosophies of loving - does where you are matter if you're in love? How far will you go - or can you go - to keep love alive? Is one person worth the pain of letting all the others go?

Stirring and gorgeously written, 'Landing' is such a lovely, luscious, story that I was charmed, and just a little crushed out on the characters, whose relationship has the whole world - literally - stacked against it.

More of this genre

Audible needs more of these types of books. There are too few audiobooks of this kind here.

Great Read!!!

Where does Landing rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One the better lesbian books I have listened too.

What does Laura Hicks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The ability to speak in various accents. Going back and forth between a Canadian and Irish woman was great!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The very ending was great!

Any additional comments?

A must listen for anyone who has ever had to cope with a long distance relationship.

Busdriverbelle

No emotions ! Could be a good love story with some passion behind it. The narrator is excellent though

Very good book

This is a great modern day love story. I love the witty dialog. The narration was ok, not as good maybe as the story deserved but ok.

Audible, why oh why did you put your end credit right up against the end of the narration. Cheesy and it took away from the book.

Not Nevada Barr's, Bittersweet

This story was a nice little long distance romance. It doesn't really get graphic (It isn't Susie Bright. This is actually a simple love story), so if you are looking for that as well, you will be dissolutioned. The characters are believable, the story line and plot are nice, and it is written with a woman's viewpoint. It would be nice to see audible get more lesbian stories from good lesbian authors. This didn't propagate stereotypes which was nice as well. Still, I think I would have liked to see more character development, background and more depth such as Nevada Barr's Bittersweet had in character development and background.

Great Characterization

Very good, not a typical romance. Not just a date and a uhaul. Characters become so well known the ending seems somehow short. It seems the novel had been about getting to know the main characters and suddenly it ends without a story about them. I would love to hear a sequence.
