It had taken four long, difficult years to tame the virgin prairie of Dakota Territory. Looking back through all the heartache and the body-breaking labor, Ingeborg Bjorklund knew that God had been with them every step of the way. Dreams that had turned into veritable nightmares had been reshaped with the promise of a new day rising, and her marriage to Haaken had been its sure sign.
Hjelmer travels west to work on the railroad, and, after sending only one letter to Penny, who has agreed to wait for him, he is not heard from again. As the months pass, Penny is pursued by other eligible suitors, and her love for Hjelmer is sorely tried. Will he ever return to keep his promise?

"Readers who want gentle romance novels should find this as appealing as the previous volumes." (Library Journal)
Lauraine Smelling and Callie Beaulieu have done it again. I was so happy that the story finally gave us a long awaited marriage and a name for their town. I cannot wait to hear what comes next.
Strong characters; vivid descriptions; godly morals, and a desire to want more and more from this series. What else is there to say: one of my favorite Christian authors and a superb narrator.
"I really enjoyed the book and the narrator has just a nice voice that makes the story come to life."
I really liked the story line and the way the scripture was woven through the story. Even though it is fictional the struggles of life are real to all of us. I was inspired by the application of God's word. Thank you for excellent books such as this that weave romance and struggles and joy all together.
