Fun

I have listened to this book many times. But if I’m in need of a distraction or laugh, I love hearing the banter between the characters. It’s one of the things J M excels in. Even in a dire situation some humor comes through. He seems to be one of the few authors capable of this. But Ray Porter brings it to life and I’ve never found a better narrator,

Ray Porter is awesome!

I've been of the Joe Ledger books since I first heard Ray Porter read the book. I'll continue to be so until the end. And I've even checked out other books read by Porter, so you should do the same. He's awesome.

Good, but not as great as others

This compilation of short stories is good, but not as great as the full-length Ledger books. I appreciate how there’s a warning of spoilers in case you haven’t read a particular book. Not every chapter has spoilers though. I’m a Ledger fan and have read all the books so of course I had to read this one too. Several stories are good, but some are just OK. One I liked was where Joe meets another ‘Barrier’ agent (as was Grace), which is the reason I rated the book ‘story’ a 4 and not a 3. A few other really good ones after that chapter made it a solid 4, but not a 5. This will not deter my reading of the next Ledger book. Narration is great as usual. Recommend this for series fans.

All Ledger shorts in one book!

What did you like best about this story?

All of the stories were great but Mr. Church's story was very cool. I also started the Pine Deep series because of the story in this book where Joe has a mission there.

Which scene was your favorite?

Church fighting Red Knights is probably one of my favorite scenes from any of the books.

Any additional comments?

If you're a fan of the Joe Ledger series, get this. You won't regret it.

Fun

It’s great to hear a few “mini” ledger stories! But also really cool to hear one that was “solo” Mr. Church.
It’s so much about Ray Porter for me. So hearing his interview at the end was good insight on both author & THE voice of Joe Ledger. VERY relieved to hear that both of them want to keep Ray as Joe in the future. Phew!

Awesome that they put them all together in a single audiobook

I’m very happy they finally put all of these into a single package. I’ve always wanted to listen to them but refuse to use a credit on a 1 hour story.
Good job Audible!

What’s to say about Ray Porter other than if he and RC Bray got into a narration duel I’m not sure who would win.
Ray is fantastic and these stories are fantastic.

Much Needed Companion to Regular Series

I love this collection! I have listened to it at least 10 times. Without giving away any spoilers, I can say that we finally get a bit more information on the mysterious Mr. Church in one story and have a nice tie in to the Pine Deep books in another.

Each of these stories are short enough to complete on a commute to work or while at the gym and they will definitely hook you from the very beginning.

Classic Ledger action as always, some favorite characters are also featured and some new details are brought out as a companion to some of the full length books 1-4. You don't have to have read those books first, but if you haven't there will be a couple spoilers that the author warns you of at the beginning of each story.

All in all, its a very well written collection that pairs well as a companion piece to some of the regular series books. It's also a nice way to quench your thirst in between waiting for the next series book to be released.

STOP ***READ BEFORE YOU BUY*** STOP

If you are listening to the adventures of Joe Ledger and friends sequentially then I believe you will be disappointed in this volume of the saga as it is comprised of some duplicates from the previous books. There are a few exceptions, a bit more background on Mr. Church and one or two other characters. If you are a diehard fan like myself you simply have to get it regardless and would get it even if the only change was the cover art. Joe and his Special Forces mix technically believable situations with horrible unfathomable evil that the general population never learn about and as usual I find it impossibly compelling.

Ray and Jonathan

Ray thanks for your talent. I specifically look for books you narrate because they are just that good. Jonathan I agree with Ray I hope Joe never retires your writing is amazing! Thanks to both of you.
