Publisher's summary

With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl's rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn't want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet's dark, haunted eyes. She's afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can't resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he iss tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love...or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

Don't miss the latest bad boy in Jay Crownover's unforgettable New Adult series.

Incorrect pronunciations.

Everything else is great. But Cal Wembly seems to have problems with correctly pronouncing names, He kept mispronouncing Asa's name. He did the same thing in Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover.

Love this series, so far...

I would have given 5 stars across the board if the actors voices were a bit different. The male voice was too soft for Jet. The female voice needed more of a twang. I suppose I loved their voices in the first book of the series and just couldn't connect with the new actors. However, it did not spoil the story for me. I could still imagine the characters from the written words of the author, and was excited that the we continue on from where the first book left off. I like the way Jay Crownover weaves a story line with the mind of a twenty-something.

Great book but unrealistic relationships

While the stories are good, I am left a bit lacking in the realness of the relationships in both this book and the previous in the series. The characters have deep philosophical conversations about their feelings often without much of the stumbling moments that happen in real relationships. For example- at the start of Jet and Aiden's relationship, they fall into a semi-relationship so quickly and easily without much discussion or hesitancy from either character. I would hope that the rest in the series start to have a bit of that believability in them.

From a narration point of view- the two narrators pronounced Aiden's brothers name differently which was a little bit annoying.

LIKED THE LEADS, BUT HAD A HARD TIME CONNECTING

I really liked Jet and Aiden and I was excited to hear their story, especially since we got a glimpse of the beginning of it in Rule's book. The narrators, Callie Dalton and Cal Wembly, performed very well and I'm really getting spoiled with the dual narrations in this series because they do such a good job of bringing these books to life. It was also great to catch up with Rule and Shaw and the rest of the Marked Men. We got a nice taste of Cora (the heroine of the next book in this series) with her sassy personality, fabulous tattoos, and her capacity to be a great friend.

In regard to the romance, the chemistry between Jet and Aiden was very good (no complaints in that department). The problem I had with this book is that I felt like I didn't get enough of Jet and Aiden TOGETHER. Both leads have some serious problems to overcome, but for most of the book they don't do it together. I thought that was a lost opportunity on behalf of the author. So, I felt this book was big on personal growth in both Jet and Aiden's cases, but it wasn't big on the deep, melt-in-your-mouth kind of romance and bonding that a romance-aholic like me looks for. The romance came together in the last 45 to 50 minutes in this book and that just didn't do enough for me. Nice epilogue though…..Also, the playlist at the end of each book is a really nice touch! I've got to look up those songs!

I hope Cora and Rome's romance is better…..on to their story next!

Bring the Angst

Any additional comments?

This book was average for one reason. Aidan. She drove me up a wall. Her inner monologue of "old Aidan" did that and "new Aidan" wants this. Re..dun..dant. And the writing for her had me wanting to wring her neck. Yes we know Jet's pants are tighter than your's. I didn't start liking her until the last 2 hours. It's like 2 different people wrote the parts. The narrator for Aidan was ok but just ok. I wish I could post a gif to fully express how lame she was for 80% of the book. Now Jet's character was well thought out. His internal monologue was interesting and to the point. Also the narrator was much much better. Jet had some really terrific lines that will melt your heart. There a few hot parts, but I was so irriatated at Aidan that they fell short. Thier first encounter in the club bathroom and the last one in the hotel were the best, the rest was filler. I really hope Rowdy or Rome's story is better and there's a little comic or lighthearted relief to break up the borderline teenage angst that this book has.

Terrible

The story goes from nothing to I can’t live without you with like no real story. Not good and the narration is awkward. I didn’t even finish the book. I skipped around the last couple chapter to confirm it didn’t get better. Painful to listen to.
