completely different than the movie
Without spoilers this is completely different than the movie from the attitudes and morals of characters to the reasons for the mayor wanting the beaches opened. The ending of the book is terrifying compared to the movie 100% recommend (don't listen to it in the tub or pool).

thrilling and captivating
The narrator was perfect for this book. Added excitement and suspense beautifully with the tone of his voice and great distinction between characters. I felt the story had an excessive amount of profanity but given the story line and circumstances could be understood. I was a little turned off by the scene where Brody's wife had the affair. Her conversation with Hooper was quite vulgar at points and cringed to think I had my young teenage son listen to the book. It seemed rather unnecessary or exaggerated. Overall great read, just could have done without that part specially.

must for the end of summer read
I was worried I wouldn't enjoy this book, but it was a great little end of summer read.
The narration was decent and his voices were adequately different that you knew what character was speaking continuously throughout the story.

Erick Steele worked this audio performance
Steele created unique voices for his characters and reads with a soothing narration which fits the tone of the book. His voice is easy on the ears and nerves and his dialogue is inflective. He brought this story to life for me and made the audio book worth coming back to from chapter to chapter.
