Publisher's summary

I’ve lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive :) !!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Classic Sophie Kinsella

Hated the voice at first but it quickly grew on me, just like the character. I do feel it could have gone very different at the end but won't give any spoilers here. it had me laughing out loud at several points.

A fun book

I liked this book. It was entertaining and fun.
The only note that I have would be for the reader. She came across very young which made it difficult to believe she was able to experience what Poppy Wyatt was experiencing in the story, other than that, it was a fun read.

A Plot That Slowly Reveals Itself

This book is a mix of romance and business intrigue. The characters are developed in an exquisite fashion, without having to do any mind reading. It all comes out of their actions. Now I am eager to find out what else this author has written. That was a page turner for me.

Cute!

Would you listen to I've Got Your Number again? Why?

Sure!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending is my only criticism of the book. It was a little over-the-top.

What does Jayne Entwistle bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

I liked the way she did the voice of the main character. It made her even more believable.

Fun, easy to listen to!

This is a nice respite from a thriller or mystery. Fun, easy, and often outloud funny. This is a great get away.......

I could not get through this book to the end

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book.
It went on too long and the narration is irritating.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sophie Kinsella again?

I have enjoyed reading many Sophie Kinsella books-- but this one put me off.
I didn't care for the main character and I just wanted it to be over already.
I wish knew what happened at the end, but I didn't care anymore and couldn't finish it!

Would you be willing to try another one of Jayne Entwistle’s performances?

Duly warned by numerous reviews of Jayne Entwistle-- I went in knowing that her voice could be grating. Eventually: I had enough of hearing the high pitched bubble gum delivery. It just was too much for me.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No- I really wanted to shake the main character and tell her to stop being such a fool for a good part of the book.

Any additional comments?

The story dragged on -- I think the editor was a bit too indulgent on this one. I could not finish the story.
