Publisher's summary

I’ve lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive :) !!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Light and fun!

I was looking for a light and fluffy listen, and this delivered in the best way possible! I truly enjoyed the story and while it was thoroughly predictable, it was also thoroughly enjoyable.

Entertaining & Lively

This was my first audible book that grabbed my attention and that I was able to stay awake to finish. It took me a little while to get use to Jayne Entwistle but as the story went along I really enjoyed her even when she was reading as a guy. I have always enjoyed Sophie Kinsella's books and her sense of humour and this book did not disappoint.

Funny story with some romance

This book was fun! I enjoy Sophie Kinsella's books, and she didn't let me down with this one. The characters always end up in crazy situations where you think it can't get any worse. Then it does.

Poppy Wyatt is a woman who is about to get married and manages to lose both her engagement ring and her cell phone while out with her friends at a hotel. The ring is a family heirloom of her fiance. While looking for her ring at the hotel she finds a phone in the trash can. The phone works so why not use it for now? I mean, really, what on earth could come of it? It turns out the person who threw away the phone was an assistant to a businessman, an important businessman, Sam Roxton. He reluctantly agrees to let her use the phone temporarily - as long as Poppy forwards text messages and emails to him promptly. But temptation is too much and Poppy starts reading the messages, even responding to some without Sam's knowledge (or permission!).

Sam and Poppy end up building somewhat of a friendship, which (expectantly) ends in a relationship.

There are a lot of text messages and emails which shows how much technology has become such a big part of our life.

Throughout the book there are footnotes in appropriate places that add a little more humor (although a reviewer said with the Kindle version they were not in the best place).

Loved it !

I thought this book was great !! It entertained me right to the end ! I agree with previous poster that the texting scene in the forest was my favourite as well ! The narrator could use some work on the other voices, it was hard to distinguish sometimes, but her voice was perfect for the main character so she made it work. Overall, very happy I bought it

Any additional comments?

I thought the story was so not interesting or catching at first; but as I kept on reading it, my interest started growing, and it got to the point that I just couldn't stop reading it at the end. Really funny and touching at the same time. I enjoyed it.
