Publisher's summary

I’ve lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive :) !!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Accent sounded fake

I found this narrator to be terrible! I'm surprised the book got as many high ratings as it has. I kept making my friends listen to it to figure out why her accent sounded so fake. I decided she must be Australian faking British, turned I was wrong, the accent is real, which is even more upsetting!

The story is cute though. I actually finished the book because I wanted to know what happened. Save yourself some frustration and read it the old fashioned way.

A romance for the Always On generation

Would you listen to I've Got Your Number again? Why?

No, but that's because there's always new books to listen to and other media to consume, so I try to not replay any books

What other book might you compare I've Got Your Number to and why?

It's on par with "Can you Keep a Secret?" I think I like this book a little bit more, though it's not quite as laugh out loud funny, I think the characters are better.

What does Jayne Entwistle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She uses her voice and accents to bring the characters to life and makes them feel alive and more likable than just reading the words on a page

If you could rename I've Got Your Number, what would you call it?

This is a great title, but since it's not Sam's number Poppy has, it's his assistant's. It's more of a "I've got your Mobile", since it involves more than phone calls.

Any additional comments?

This book was a lot of fun to listen to. It's got some good characters and they're not completely one dimensional. The plot doesn't slow down, the pacing is good and the book never feels like it drags.

Another fun read from Sophie K.

Totally fell in love with this book, such a FUN listen. Really enjoyed Jayne Entwistle's performance. I've read the Shopaholic series and expected nothing short of a fun plot that would keep my attention and have me engrossed in "what happens next??" with every chapter. I was not disappointed at all. "I've Got Your Number: A Novel" is a must read if you are a fan of Sophie Kinsella, a must!

Fun and clever

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Fun idea. Can feel the challenges.

Which scene was your favorite?

Walking through the woods

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found the book itself dragged after a while but picked back up at the end

A Fun, Sassy, Clever Read! LOVE Sophie Kinsella

If you could sum up I've Got Your Number in three words, what would they be?

Clever, clever, clever!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Poppy but ADORE Sam.

Have you listened to any of Jayne Entwistle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but she is excellent

Who was the most memorable character of I've Got Your Number and why?

Poppy and Sam are equally lovable in different ways

Any additional comments?

5 Stars! Have not listened to the Shopaholic Series yet, but this book & Can You Keep A Secret are 2 of my favorites.

I hate the main character

The narrator of the book is very good. The story is okay, I almost stopped listening halfway through though. I can't stand the main character. Poppy is so dumb and aggravating. She makes mistake after mistake and never takes ownership of what she's done.

Love, Love, Love it. ♥️

This is such a fun story. It's one of those books where I'm sorry when it's over, but it's so satisfying. Poppy is a character that you want to cheer for.

Fun and Adorable

Classic Kinsella, fun and entertaining to listen to on my road trip. A bit predictable, but thats part of the Kinsella charm.

Disappointing

A real disappointment after the Shopaholic series. Thoroughly enjoyed every one of those but had to struggle through this one. Didn't really like a single one of the characters.
