southern history wrapped in a story
Besides the great heart in the story, I have more understanding of how it was to be a person of color in the south in those days. And it makes the listener think of their own childhood days. Jan Karon at her best!

Missing Father Tim
While I enjoyed learning Father Tim's backstory, some of his actions seemed out of character. Also, I missed John McDonough, who I believe to be the voice of Father Tim, regardless of his age.

I really miss John McDonough as narrator. To me he is the voice of Father Tim Cavanaugh. Scott Sowers did a fine job, but it’s just not the same

I want more!!
This was my first Jan Karon story. I am hooked! I listen to my audiobooks while I drive and I found myself sitting in parking lots and even in my garage still listening.
The characters are so alive and fascinating. More more more please.
