Publisher's summary

The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist. Put New York Times best-selling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett together...and all Hell breaks loose.

Critic reviews

"Pratchett (of Discworld fame) and Gaiman (of Sandman fame) may seem an unlikely combination, but the topic (Armageddon) of this fast-paced novel is old hat to both. Pratchett's wackiness collaborates with Gaiman's morbid humor; the result is a humanist delight to be savored and reread again and again." (Amazon.com review)

Irreverently brilliant

World-building has always been Gaiman's forte as satire was Pratchett's. The two of them combined blessed the world with Good Omens, an irreverent dive into a world where an angel and a demon are the best of friends, a hellhound gains a new life as a cat-worrier, Atlantis rises from the sea bed, and a much-loved Bentley can change any tape to the Best of Queen over a fortnight. Paired with hilarious footnotes and razor-sharp dialogue, Good Omens gives us adorably incompetent Satanist nuns, a reluctant Antichrist, and a (b)romance(?) six-thousand years in the making. Armageddon never stood a chance.

SINFULLY good!

I love Neil Gaiman and this collaboration between him and Terry Pratchett is absolutely delightful. I loved this story and Martin Jarvis's portrayal of the characters is so brilliant that I found myself loving them even more. I immediately told my daughter to purchase this, and we both agree that this title is not just good, it's SINFULLY good.

very funny. made me laugh out loud. it kind of lost me once or twice because the plot line became so complicated, but in the end I figured it all out and really enjoyed it.

Phenomenal, Witty, and Hilarious

My family and I listened to this book when I was a kid and I remember enjoying it. I wanted to show it to my husband because I remembered it being at least OK. I am VERY glad I re-listened to it with him! It has great and quirky humor, and makes such wonderfully humorous observations on the quirks of human nature and religion. The story is phenomenal and the narrator does a marvelous job. 10/10 would recommend.

Didn’t know what to expect

I bought this book because my niece told me about it. WOW - I was pleasantly surprised! It is funny, entertaining and wildly imaginative. I loved every second of it!

All Around Brilliance

Such a sharp-witted, imaginitive book! and so very well read. The reader had a distinctive voice for each major (and most minor) character which is no small feat! A fun story, with terrific underlying messages. I enjoyed this thoroughly and can't recommend it enough. I love Gaiman's work and this collaboration doesn't dissapoint!
