Introducing Gideon Crew: trickster, prodigy, master thief....

At 12, Gideon Crew witnessed his father, a world-class mathematician, accused of treason and gunned down.

At 24, summoned to his dying mother's bedside, Gideon learned the truth: His father was framed and deliberately slaughtered. With her last breath, she begged her son to avenge him.

Now, with a new purpose in his life, Gideon crafts a one-time mission of vengeance, aimed at the perpetrator of his father's destruction. His plan is meticulous, spectacular, and successful.

But from the shadows, someone is watching. A very powerful someone, who is impressed by Gideon's special skills. Someone who has need of just such a renegade.

For Gideon, this operation may be only the beginning....

First Preston & Child and I'll Be Back for More

What made the experience of listening to Gideon's Sword the most enjoyable?

With this being my first Preston & Child experience I really enjoyed the background of Gideon and the premise of how he came to be in the story. Gideon provided me a new "hook" for a "super hero" type character.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot at times seemed predictable but I still kept wanting to know what was going to happen around the next corner.

What about John Glover’s performance did you like?

John Glover has an amazing voice that keeps you ingrained in the story. Each time I listen to Glover I feel like I am part of the story.

If you could rename Gideon's Sword, what would you call it?

Can't think of anything else it fit perfectly.

Any additional comments?

Thank you Preston & Child for providing a suspense book and an avenue to a new series to follow.

Will be reading or listening to all the Gideon Crew series!

I listened to this one because it didn't cost me the atrocious price Audible charges, it was free due to my Kindle Unlimited subscription! Already 3/4 of the way with Gideons Corpse! Got free same as with this book ! Excellent narrator! God Bolden be ruined by bad narrator! Good plot, good characters, but some very corrupt villains! Gideon is a very interesting character. I love Preston and Child's books . They are geniuses as far as putting good books togher! Love the Pendergast series ! I recommend that you read or listen to their books for unusual plots, characters and books that keep one reading and listening. Most of the whole extensive Pendergast series I was able to listen to or read for free. That is definitely in my price range as 79 year old living on Social Security but have to always have a GOOD mystery or suspense book going!

Not Pendergast

Gideon is not good character. Hard to like him and that makes for a sometimes difficult listen. The story was OK but not up to Perdergast standards.

Another Great Preston & Child Book!

I'm a true Preston & Child fan from way back. I have loved just about everything I have read of theirs, with a couple of exceptions. But this one is great. I enjoyed every minute of the action and adventure packed into this book. Another book that was very hard to put down. The narration was "alright", though I am spoiled by the awesome narration of Rene Auberjonois in the "Pendergast" books. This narrator was ok, but mispronounced some words he didn't know, and that is really a pet peeve of mine. All-in-all, definitely an enjoyable read!
