Publisher's Summary

Dear Listener,

With Full House, my good friend Charlotte Hughes and I teamed up to create an exciting new series. Now we bring you the second audiobook, Full Tilt, which is filled with even more fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity. While these audios are not set in the world of Stephanie Plum, we're convinced they will bring you all the fun, wisecracks, and the adventure that we love.

Jamie Swift has one priority in quiet Beaumont, South Carolina: running the local newspaper. Romance runs second. But with the arrival of her silent partner, the notoriously mysterious and sexy Maximillian Holt, Jamie's life gets shaken up. Max claims he's here to give his brother-in-law a vote of confidence. A former wrestler, Frankie Fontana's now taking his shots in the political ring. Beaumont could use a mayor with scruples, but what it gets is a crime - and what Jamie gets is a story that's taking her for a ride on the wild side, complete with two assassins, a washed-up stripper, and an insane poacher. Between a spray of bullets and a fast getaway, could it get any more romantic - or dangerous? Max and Jamie are betting their lives on a long shot.

Charlotte and I hope you'll enjoy listening to Full Tilt as much as we have enjoyed creating it.

    "Fluff"

I love the Stephanie Plum novels and wanted to like this book. Although the story was fast-paced and action-filled, there was not enough suspense, not enough romance, too few real laughs. My disappointment had much to do with the reader, who though skilled, tried too hard to come up with individual voices to help the listener follow a story that was heavily weighted with dialog. This is a novel I think I would have enjoyed more had I read it instead of listened to it.

    "Full Tilt - full disappointment"

If you are, as I am, a fan of Stephanie Plum and Granny Mazar, and the rest of Ms. Evanovich's characters and plots, you will probably be as disappointed in Full Tilt as I was.

I finished listening, but throughout the book, I kept promising myself that if a character uttered the words 'somebody ought to do something' in "this town"'even one more time I was going to delete the book and start something else!

I don't recommend "this book" to anyone!

    "Characters not complex enough."

I was intrigued by the description, so I bought the book. I am sorry to say I found it disappointing. The book is definitely not thought provoking and the romance left me tepid, at best. At several points I contemplated just not finishing it. Primarily, I wish the character development would have been more complex.

    "Full Tilt"

As a fan of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, I found this book to be a disappointment. The traditional dry humor was missing. Instead, it seemed that it was forced and just didn't reach the same standard.

I probably would've liked this if I was a teenager in the 50's. Very dissapointing. I wish I had read these reviews.

    "Disappointing"

I love, love, love Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum books, but this one falls way short. The characters don't fit together and the dialog is weak. Looking forward to the next "Wicked" book!

    "Okay, but..."

It was an okay book, but matched with her Stephanie Plum series, it pales in comparison.

    "Enjoyable and easy listening"

It was definitely an Evanovich - true, it is not a Plum but still a fun mystery and good characters, in the Evanovich style. It was a very enjoyable story. Had to read after Full House, and I like the way the characters have developed from Book 1.

"You will want to shoot them yourself"

"Exciting new series, filled with fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity."

    NOT!

"Jamie Swift has one priority in quiet Beaumont, South Carolina: running the local newspaper."

Jamie Swift couldn't write a newpaper article to save her life, which is exactly what she does not do. If Jamie Swift is the hard-core newspaper journalist that the reviews make her out to be, she would have already investigated what was going on in her town, and blown the top off the scandal before Max Holt shows up. The only "shaking up" that is done is having her car riddled with bullets.

"Max and Jamie are betting their lives on a long shot."

Don't bet your life on a good listen; just bet that you will have an irratating listen.

Not the genre but the series.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I like Lorelei no matter what she narrates

    Any additional comments?
