Publisher's summary

It’s the near future, and thanks to a perfect storm of reckless banking practices, hyperinflation, a stock market gone mad, and the negligence of our elected officials, the entire social, political, and economic infrastructure of America has collapsed. Chaos reigns in the streets, medical treatment is no longer available, and a silent coup has placed a dangerous group of men at the helm of a false government.

America’s fate is in the hands of those few individuals who have the survival skills, the faith, and the forethought to return this country to the state its founding fathers intended.

A nice follow on book to the series

The narrator did a fairly good job, his pronunciation of the town of Belle Fourche was incorrect, which was a little irritating, it's Bell Foosh, not Bell Foosh'a, not sure where either him or the author came up with that one.......

Horrible narrator, too much rehashing

How could the performance have been better?

Phil Gigante is an awful narrator, and his voices for women are beyond atrocious. I hope his rates are reflective of his performance quality.

Any additional comments?

I was surprised that Rawles actually wasn't negative regarding the farm family that was "moral but not religious". He does love to witness in his books and is clearly biased against those who are not Catholics or Christians. Still, he does now how to weave practical advice in with the story line.

3rd Book. Engaging and thought provoking.

Characters and plot lines are interesting and believable. Scenarios gave me much food for thought. I started a wish list of items I need to acquire!

Founders

A great story about something I hope never happens. But with the way things are going today, who knows.

Very Good end to the series

If you've read the other 3 books you'll see several references to them in this final [I believe] book in the series. It was a nice cap to the series and I recommend it to everyone. It's an easy listen and the information is as always important to have.

Better than what I expected!

Would you listen to Founders again? Why?

This is a great story. I agree I could have done without most of the overly religious parts, but it was part of the story. I don't think it was as distracting as some have stated. I really enjoyed this book.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was not as good as the past two books. Dick Hill did a much better job for these books. Once you get over that and he stops speak in his women's voice it is not bad.

Any additional comments?

In summary if you have invested the time with the first two books you will want to listen to this one too. It is definitely worth it. It gives you just enough additional items to really finish up the story.

Great Book, fills in gaps in Survivors & Patriots

Where does Founders rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Founders ranks right along side of James Wesley Rawles' Patriots and Survivors.

What about Phil Gigante’s performance did you like?

Very well performed.a great listen.

Any additional comments?

Founders tells the back story of several characters first introduced in Patriots and Survivors. It is a great story if you liked Patriots and Survivors.

great out look

While I really enjoyed this book, it just wasn't as good as the other two. The first two books were new and informative as well as entertaining, this one seemed to rehash too much. I love Dick Hill and was a little disapointed that he was not narrating.
