Publisher's summary

It’s the near future, and thanks to a perfect storm of reckless banking practices, hyperinflation, a stock market gone mad, and the negligence of our elected officials, the entire social, political, and economic infrastructure of America has collapsed. Chaos reigns in the streets, medical treatment is no longer available, and a silent coup has placed a dangerous group of men at the helm of a false government.

America’s fate is in the hands of those few individuals who have the survival skills, the faith, and the forethought to return this country to the state its founding fathers intended.

continued story line

Where does Founders rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The reader was better and the story was still good. He simply tells the side stories of other characters from the first book. It is still pleasurable and interesting.

I was concerned by the bad reviews but listened anyways and really liked it.

Patriots on Repeat

Jim seems to have one good story in him which he replicates and rehashes in several iterations. I appreciate his writing style and admirable characters. Overall a B-

It’s decent but not as good as Patriots

It was a decent read / listen. I read his other book, “Patriots”, which I found to be significantly better. I would have liked to see all of the works he wrote tired together like a short prequel, Patriots, Founders, etc.

Refreshing story about real people

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

After a steady diet stories about CIA agents, Navy SEALS, etc all with superhuman skills and lots of money, this is a plausible story populated with real people. Lots of details-vehicles, weapons, military, and faith mixed into a story that kept me listening. I look forward to listening to Patriots and Survivors-especially since Dick Hill is the narrator. He did a great job with the W.E.B. Griffin books.

Great book and a must read

What made the experience of listening to Founders the most enjoyable?

Like most of Rowels books it gives you a story with some how too.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the book because unlike Patriot this doesn't focus on the group of people who had 15 years and six figure incomes to build a fortress in the redoubt area.

Worst of Rawles’ Book so far

The book is all over the place! You cannot keep everyone straight and the story jumps around over large periods of time. No cohesive thought in my opinion. Stopped reading and switched to Liberators. So far much better. Patriots was great too.

What’s going on?

I love this author and eagerly purchased book 3 in this series. But easily 3/4 of this story is a retelling of the first two books. Why? What is the point?

And the narration is good until the speaker tries to use a female voice. That is very distracting from the story.

Good start...

It starts out well but has a weak finish. Provide listener with food for thought and gives Americans plenty of reason to prepare.
