Publisher's summary

It’s the near future, and thanks to a perfect storm of reckless banking practices, hyperinflation, a stock market gone mad, and the negligence of our elected officials, the entire social, political, and economic infrastructure of America has collapsed. Chaos reigns in the streets, medical treatment is no longer available, and a silent coup has placed a dangerous group of men at the helm of a false government.

America’s fate is in the hands of those few individuals who have the survival skills, the faith, and the forethought to return this country to the state its founding fathers intended.

Don't waste your Credit!

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the first two books, but this installment was little more then a rehash of the first two. It reminded me of the 'B' Sci-Fi and Fantasy movies from the '80's....it got to the point where directors would just cut in fight scenes from other sci-fi movies they had done in the past.
I find it really irritating when an author builds up your trust on the first two books so that you will buy the third regardless if they put any effort into it or not.
Mr. Rawles, I appreciate everything you have done for the industry up to this point, but Sir, you have done us a disservice with this book.

Buy the first two, don't waste a credit on this one.

Ok but not as good as the others in Rawles Series

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

YES as I think Rawles style is interesting to me and like minded people. This story however almost seemed a rehash of allot of the Patriots story. It is tied into the other books really well. Its hard to say what book to listen to first but Id say patriots first then survivors then this one. At least thats how I read them.

What about Phil Gigante’s performance did you like?

good

Could you see Founders being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Humm IDK dont watch allot of television.

Any additional comments?

GET Ready for it.

Listen to this at .90 speed

overall is really good book the downside to it though initially when your first listening to it the narrator is going entirely too fast and it's not clear. however if you slow down .90 speed it clears up and there's no more issues and the narrator is not understandable

Expands on Patriots

This book is a little slow to start, but once it gets going, it really clarifies some missing adventures about the Northwest Militia travels and the intel side of the Rebellion. Builds on Patriots, can read them in any order, but you should read both for a bigger picture. Onto the next book in the series to see if it follows suit.

Best of Rawles, James Wesley and Best of Genre

Prepper advice and real possibilities wrapped up in a character deep, scenarios believable novel. Multiple plotlines covering multiple posibilities, personality types, geographies and outcomes. Read this to understand why you should prep, how to prep and how to leverage your prep to survive and overcome. Do this through the experiences of the characters and scenarios in the novel. A masterpiece by the master of prep for the real world.

First two books were quite good, this one was okay.

I enjoyed the narration on this book more than on the first two novels. Phil Gigante does a great job of playing the different characters, without the exaggerated (kind of stereotyped) accents from the narrator of the first two books. The story started off well, then dragged on and recounted many details from the first two books ad nauseam. The tempo picks up towards the last 10 chapters (infiltration of the provisional government), but never really delivers. It's too bad... From the reviews of the last two books, I will not be finishing off the series. However, I will definitely go back for notes from the first two books.

better than Patriots

this updated version an extension to James Wesley Rawles post-apocalyptic universe is actually significantly better than the original. Patriots always seem to have very shallow characters though granted it was more of a summarization of events and based off of blog posts as far as I remember the history of it. Founders on the other hand seems to be a much better thought out novella, the characters are much more relatable and come from different walks of life, that being said with mr. Rawles standard attention to his Christian Base. what was really nice in this version of the story was the long-term Outlook for society after the crunch in which the author looks very far into the future into a hypothetical post oil world.

if your fan of survivalist fiction this one is definitely worth a read or a listen.
