Publisher's summary

When Ellery moved to New York with her boyfriend, she thought they’d live happily ever after in their small New York apartment. She never thought he’d pack his bags and leave because he “needed space”.

With her newfound single status and fear of being alone, Ellery buries herself in her artwork and paintings until one night she helps a mysterious intoxicated stranger get home safely. Little did she know the mysterious stranger is none other than CEO and millionaire Connor Black. After finding Ellery in his kitchen the next morning and assuming she broke his #1 rule about sleepovers, he becomes intrigued, not only by her stubbornness and defiance, but by her kindness.

Connor Black, emotionally dead and damaged, stemming from a personal tragedy, made a vow to never love or fall in love with a woman, until Ellery Lane walked into his life by accident. After she opens up and shows him her world, Connor starts to feel emotions and feelings he never knew existed. Despite the rumors and warnings regarding Connor Black and his use and misuse of women, Ellery finds herself being drawn into his world.

Ellery knows they can never be together because she is harboring a deep secret that could destroy Connor emotionally forever. Join Connor and Ellery as they embark on a journey of courage, love and strength. Will it be enough to save them?

Lovely romance

Would you listen to Forever Black again? Why?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I was a little apprehensive about starting this series as some of the reviews were not very good but I am glad I thought for myself and started it, I thought it was a lovely love story of two people facing difficulties, there wasn't any hot love scenes they were rather tame but it was still very enjoyable, I listened to the audibooks and they were narrated by Felicity Munroe and David Benjamin Bliss who both did a fantastic job of giving a voice and personality to Connor Black and Ellery Lane.

Absolutely Beautiful Story!

What did you love best about Forever Black?

The way the love story played out - not always a fairytale - yet whimsical and sweet.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oh wow ... somewhere between Ellery and Connor ... but everyone was incredible from Peyton to her friends in California ... just great characters!

Which scene was your favorite?

If I give that information it will be a spoiler . . .

If you could rename Forever Black, what would you call it?

Hmmmmm .... Love Happened!

Any additional comments?

Great story! Great narration! Great Characters ... looking forward to completing the entire trilogy! One thing ... the Author really could have toned down all the "F" bombs and the sex scenes could have been a bit more tasteful, but all in all it was really a sweet story and I look forward to Book 2 of the Trilogy!

Disappointing...

This story had so much potential. Between the repeats, cliches, and the heroine's childish behavior... it quickly became a disaster. I was really disappointed with the story after reading all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, even a great narrator couldn't save it. Sorry but this didnt come close to making my recommended list.

New series and author for me

This title was on sale so I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. The characters are well developed and the story line pulled me in. I laughed and cried, but most important felt what the story had to say. Lynn is a new author for me and I think I will watch her and take other chances with her books. Do I recommend this title? Yes, like I said I bought it on sale but it is worth the credit as well. At first Munroe's voice distracted me, but as the story line got going her narration got better making it a great listen. A light warning to some there are some light sexual encounters, but but they did not distract from the over all story. Teehee.

Forever Black Very good

I really enjoyed this story. Conner and Ellery were great characters, full of passion and heat. As well as, spit and fire. Their friendship in the beginning was great. I really liked their banter, and the way she tells it like it is. But, that did become frustrating when she would fly off the handle at Conner and just take off. That part of the book bothered me. I felt like she could have been a little more mature than that, considering what she's been through in her life. Her reactions to the other women eyeing Conner were hilarious, and I would have loved to have read more of those scenes. I did feel like it was rushed. Several times throughout the book, I felt like things happened so quickly and then they were moving on to something else. I would have liked more of a build up and more after thought for some of it. I did enjoy her reaction to Kyle coming back. He definitely deserved that. Ellery is such a great character overall. She's suffered so much loss in her life, as well as her own battles with cancer. She is entitled to some anger and self-pity, but I thought she did take it too far on occasion. Conner was the typical bad boy character with no feelings for women. He could be harsh at times, but I could see him growing into more of a well-rounded man. Overall, I really enjoyed the story-line of this book, and I look forward to reading Conner's POV. I'm hoping it will fill in some holes for me.

Felicity Munroe , David Benjamin Bliss did a great job with the delivery of the story

This series will grab you

When you start reading romance stories, you prepare yourself that it is just a fantasy read. This is exactly that. I did like it a lot and got wrapped up in Ellory and Connor and their whirlwind romance. Sandi Lynn does know how to describe a really Hot Sex scene. WOW!! If you liked 50 Shades of Grey, this is much better and the narrator is also 1000 times better too. I choose to purchase "Forever You" which is the same exact story but it's Connor who tells his side of the romance. I'm almost finished with it and figured I would add my 2 cents saying, you don't really need to buy this 2nd book in the series unless you want to hear his sexy voice, which is pretty good. You do have to get used to his female voice. It's not that great. Onto the 3rd book in the series....
This series is worth the credits if you want to take yourself into a fantasy world for a while.

Wow what an amazing audio version of a book I love

Ellery Lane left the heartbreak of her hometown with her boyfriend Kyle to start new in New York City. When a year later he claims he needs space and walks out on her, she is left stunned and wondering what happened. Ellery dives into her painting and when her best friend Payton decides to take her out get her mind off of her lack of a love life her life changes. Connor Black's personal life is becoming chaos but the moment he meets Ellery Lane things make sense but they can never be more than friends. Their relationship becomes so much more but with secrets surrounding them both can they truly find the happiness they both desire? I loved this book and the audible edition made it so much better. The narrators were amazing and the story just flowed. This is one series that I love so much and on audio it is just so much better.

I read the trilogy

This will be the same review for all three books.

This series had some powerful stuff going on. There was concealment on both sides leading to misunderstanding and drama galore, but it was a nice growing relationship story. Sometimes I just stared at my phone thinking the leading lady was on crack, but she had her reasons for doing what she did, and he had his reasons for being the way he was.

This isn't up there with the Crossfire series because those are just exhausting to read with all the ups and downs, but this also wasn't memorable like some of the other trilogies I have read...maybe I'm being a poor sport about this but I think too much of their story was told. The old saying of first theirs love, then theirs marriage, then there is blank in the baby carriage...it was just told so clearly that it didn't leave much to the imagination.

The series is cheap enough so go ahead and purchase it, just save your credits for more powerful listens...I wouldn't call this series fluff but it wasn't gripping either.

Good but not great

Any additional comments?

This was okay but far from great. I'm not that excited to continue with series and probably won't.
